Mark - interesting - but I suppose we have similar incidents to that described in Karachula happening in major cities of the UK between different ethnic groups on a daily basis.

I personally think the Turkish authorities will not allow incidents like this to disrupt daily life - as unfortunately does happen in the UK with no-go areas in many large towns.

Their is a unique mix of respect and fear of authority in Turkey which is one of the reasons it appeals greatly to us!

Hope you are settling in well and enjoying life in your new home?

Ian

Regarding the so called event in Fethiye the article does not mention, apart from the fact it took place in a predominantly Kurdish area that it was actually politically motivated.....It may well have been noisy motorcyclists being a nuisance as they can be at times, that has been fueled by the press (Yet Again)  Ethnic Unrest will probably sell more papers than the headline Noisy Motorcyclists.
