Post by: tribalelder on January 23, 2009, 18:53:06 PM: Tremendous Storm here in Fethiye this morning, very very high winds, lots of structural damage....... plastic tables and chairs flying about walls damaged and tiles off roofs. Lots of trees down and one set of water tanks near the Market had collapsed and taken the chimeney down as well. Also heard that a tree had come down in the market and that one of the village sellers had been killed. All followed by some heavy rain.

Talked about broken / damage to one water tank on our roof and pieces of corrugated roofing blowing into the pool!

Quite a useful site to keep your eye on the weather,
we've found it to be quite accurate and is used widely by the
yachting fraternity, broken into windspeed, rainfall, and cloud cover

Then it rained then it pi**d down... then the wind sprang up again........Then we got hailstones and thunder and lightning! Could not stand up on the balcony. Ice and tiles really is a lethal combination.Half an hour later it is brightening up but it knocked out my wireless modem and I had to reset it. January is proving very interesting:D
