Virgin Media (was Telewest Broadband) wrote to me Russ, to say that while they loved supplying me with 2mb, they were ceasing that service and would be upgrading me to 8mb, at no extra charge :D
-

0.92, 0.90
You have to hand it to TTnet, they're consistently short changing ;)
-
but remember...."your in Turkiye"...what that has to do with it i dont know[:o)]....i do know that here is a rip off as far as internet spead is concerned.:D
-
Ours shows as 1.78, so thats not too bad for a 2 mb contract

And that's uphill too!

This was downhill to Birmingham tonight. :) :)

I tried both these sites. The first one gave me 864Kbps Download and 85Kbps upload.
The second site gave me 0.83Kbps Download and 0.16Kbps upload.
Why are they different??
-
Throughput changes all the time depending on what else you are doing, what everyone else on your ISP is doing and many other factors. Also the sites download and upload known sized files from a server and calculate the figures from there. It is likely they are dealing with servers that are quite different and also a long way apart from each other in relation to where you are.
If you do a test 5 times on the same site, they'll all be different.

Aargh! LOL!
Thanks.

Also you may experience line noise in Uzumlu. Best bring your pegs in.

The Wigan internet connection would be faster if it didn't come via Pimblets pie shop (A bit like me really ! )

My advice is that before you do a speed test (http://www.myspeedtestonline.com/) you should have ALL programs closed and no applications open. Specially the ones that
connect to the Internet. you should also try doing the test in different moments of the day, because heavy traffic can significantly
lower your speed. Check this webs, i trust them when i need a speed
test: myspeedtestonline.com , speedtest.net , my-speedtest.com
