Title: Meeting Point
Post by: babcc on April 25, 2009, 23:06:34 PM
Was in Calis two weeks ago and had some lovely meals at Meeting Point. Ahmed and his nephew Agit were ust fabulous.  They were so friendly, fussed over our kids and the food was so good and great value for money.  What was also lovely what that they remembered our names and I do think that little touches like that mke all the difference. :)

We visited Ahmet last week whilst out for a week and the food is still up to the usual standard, the Lamb Shank is hard to beat as is the fish and chips. The service was excellent and Ahmet was always happy to have a chat. Well worth a visit to a guy who works hard and makes you welcome.

Ahmet is truly the salt of the earth, he is a lovely family man, like every other member has said, so welcoming and friendly. The meals are lovely especially the beef and the chicken curries!Ummm I could eat one now.

Hi All. Went to have a meal with Ahmet tonight. The garlic mushrooms starter was great and the lamb shank was the best I've come across in Calis in 4 years of tasting  :).
Ken  8)
p.s. Ahmet must have done a shrewd deal with the Berk which is now Bostans as his crockery is all marked with the Berk insignia:D:D

Hope I explain this right as it is all quite new to me! Meeting Point is on the Baris Manco Bulvari and is next door to Edi's Silver shop which is next door to Golden Moon Estates.  This road has The Shamrock Bar, Josephs to name just a couple of places.  8)

Just returned home today after spending a week in Calis.  We had breakfast and evening meals nearly everyday at Meeting Point, the food is fab as are the staff.  They make you feel so welcome and are genuinely friendly.  We will definitely return to calis and to Meeting point.  Ahmed, Adgit and the rest of the staff are really lovely people.  Hope it's as good next year.

We had our last meal at the Meeting Point, mainly because I was sitting next to Ahmet on the dolmus and said we would :D. It's years since we've eaten there. Sorry to Jacqui but both Mrs Scunner and I chose steak although both different styles. I must say it was excellent, bit light on the old chips but you can't have it all  ;)

I may be alone, I can be quite strange in my dining likes and dislikes, but I can't stand meals being served on clear glass plates :D - a minor thing of course. Ahmet is a nice fellow and we enjoyed our evening. A couple of drinks seemed rather mixer heavy but no problem sorting that. It was very busy, I had noticed this to be the case most nights and this must mean that many people also rate the place.

We went to the Meeting Point tonight and the food was excellent. The best news is that for anyone missing Tevik from The Nil Bar this is where he is working.!!!!Best waiter in Calis by far. We will be seeing a lot more of him. It is a really good atmosphere. He and Ahmed used to work together years ago and it is good to see them back together.

Yes we also saw Tevik at the meeting point, it was so strange seeing him there as he worked at Nils restaurant for years!! He is by far the best waiter in Calis and feel the Meeting Point are lucky to have in.

We ate there and the food was delicious and very reasonable.I would go there anywway just to be served by Tevik who is such a nice fella.

Go try the food and service and see.

We have eaten at the Meeting Point on a number of occasions and never yet had a bad meal. Ahmet, Agit and his team are all lovely people and always go the extra mile to make you visit special. Plus his ability to memerise names is amazing. makes such a difference. Also a great venue for a special meal, birthday, aniversary or whatever, they always make it worth remembering, just let them know. Thoroughly recommended!

Took friends for dinner one night last week - food was excellent as always - my vegetarian friend was raving about the pasta and I can recommend the lamb shank - if anything there was too much food - tremendous value for money and scraps for the stray dogs too :-)
