I think this has been mentioned on the forum previously.We stopped and asked 'jimmy'  about changing some sterling for us,oh yes,he said 2.39,and no commission,so hubby goes to him to exchage our cash into lira.On checking,hubby found he was 40 lira short,so went back for his'shortfall',only to be told,oh no this is right,cant do it at 2.39[even though he had a sign up stating 2.39,no commission]in the end hubby demanded his sterling back,and exchanged it at the bank.So anyone thinking of using this chap,CHECK YOUR CASH!!!!Better still give him a wide berth!![:(!]

Glad you stood your ground on this one but despite all the warnings people will still use him and I have no doubt many will say we have used him and never been conned. That is the whole purpose of a successful con so the mark never knows!

Allways use the banks for exchange,they are the best deal you will getbar NONE.just make sure you have ID dr licence,or passport.

No, he gave me the 470 lira, but he wouldn't give me my £200 back, but i'm working on that one, lol. Alan

We also got a better rate than the bank with him last week. Counted it back before we left shop and all OK.
