We were just in time for our return flight from Dalaman to Glasgow & were relieved to actually make the flight.
I was surprised, however, to be told that we were one kilo excess baggage weight & asked for £8.
We had been within the weight limit when we travelled to Dalaman at the start of our holiday & had left shampoo, sunscreen, coffee,powder milk etc on the return & had not picked up any souvenirs due to a mistake re our leaving date.
I shifted one kilo of stuff from case to hand luggage, having first checked that the hand luggage was within the weight allowance & it cost nothing at all to convey the exact same weight!
It may be an idea to arrive early at check in & ask to have baggage weight checked before checking in. Maybe if they realise that people are aware of their scam they will stop trying it on.
