You can get tickets from Roy & Brian at the village garden up in Nif,they are running a shuttle service if you wish to park out of the way and also a good menu if you wish to eat before you go just give them a ring.
-
Probably the most boring evening I ever spent in Turkey. Turkish and British people I was with all agreed :D

Went there last year and have to agree:D
Still we had a great meal at the restaurant at the top of the mountain, with lots of cherries and jam ;)
-
Scunner, something boring in Turkey?! A bit like the Calis Carnival Concert but with scenery!
-
Give it a rest now Chris, we know you are a prick.

Yes it is a Forum and a very good Forum but why do we need comments like " Scunner, something boring in Turkey?! A bit like the Calis Carnival Concert but with scenery! " a lot of hard work was put in to the Calis Carnival and The Nif Cherry Festival is a very traditional Turkish event, now if you don't like them then why slag them off and be sarcastic about them, if you don't like what goes on in Turkiye the answer is simple DON'T COME OUT HERE.
Have a nice day 8)
-
:D lol

For the information of pegleg and anyone else who thinks that there is an issue where people disagree with the majority - you may think that minority opinions aren't welcome here but they are. Naturally, minority opinions tend to attract majority replies.
I wish there were more lively debates here but sadly we seem to attract the likes of Tippett, who in school playground mentality has (from day 1) chosen popular and well regarded subjects and sought to attack them, purely for the notoriety that can bring.
Once again I read that a well thought of restaurant needs the Tippett opinion and that is that a British person should buy it, if it is ever to amount to anything. Of course not him though. Like the carnival, we have to listen to the feeble attacks on things people think highly of - because it makes him sound controversial and irritating, which he likes.
We're all here to help each other, not dismantle each other. Opinions are fine, criticism is fine but when it is incessant you must expect a response. He may think he's clever belittling the efforts of others, but when challenged on how to do it better he ran away.
Big words, no actions. Useless and pointless individual.
-
Tippett again,no surprise. This bloke is a complete prat. Never a good word for anything or anybody who puts in effort for the benefit of others. Is the man a resident ? If so,why. I just don't see his point. If you can't stand a place. Don't live there. I saw a sign in the back of a car the other day & its just reminded me of Tippett "England, love it or leave it !!" I think the same applies to Turkey, Mr Tippett.
-
Chris Tippett IS a resident. I know he provokes on here but it seems that in person he is not the same bloke as he comes across here. I won't say any more.
-
You mean he's bloody worse ?
-
Nooooo, I have met him and he was nice. I have no idea why he comes on here to rattle cages. Maybe its sport to him. But in my opinion any "Playground Mentality" on this site is displayed by others, regularly, unfortunately. I have come to expect it. It is the CBF style and I have learnt to ignore it, for the most part.
-
well I have not met him but I have met Rindaloo +Mr Rindaloo and they were really nice people. Plus they gave us a lift!
Maybe its just the luck of the Irish but I have personally yet to meet one English person in Uzumlu who has not been sound.
-
Thanks for that Saoirse.not a bad chap yourself. Regards Calvin

What playground mentality do you refer to Linda? And how does it compare with ripping the efforts of unpaid fundraisers to shreds for nothing more than personal sport?
I'm even less impressed, now I've read that the dickhead is supposedly nice in real life - another case of fearless when it's only a computer screen...

I am referring to when a group of CBF'ers all gang up on one person, in a very childish, gratuitous manner. It happens a lot. I am not talking about a disagreement in a discussion. - That's bona fide to me. I mean the bullying style of the playground. I dont say I agree with what Mr Tippett says on here, I have disagreed with him in the past. As I said before, I don't know why he does it.
My comments on here were as a direct result of someone asking if Chris lived here, -he does. And as a result of you saying he had a playground mentality, which I dispute.
BTW, Thanks for your comments Mr Saoirse, we will give you a lift anytime :D

watch out Saoirse, we land tomorrow - you may well change your mind then :D ;) (but I also agree with your statement).
-
lol!
For you non Uzumluites I should point out that I especially mentioned Rindaloo giving us a lift as up here in Uzumlu Rindaloo is the only person with a car! Calvin has a tv (we all go round there to watch weakest link) Chris has a cooker (we go there for din-dins), I have a bottle opener and so on. Simple country folk up here
-
People do tend to gang up on individuals who arrive to cause trouble. If that is not acceptable to him, I suggest he doesn't come and criticise everything he can find to. We waited for his suggestions on how the things he criticised should be improved and he had nothing to contribute.
If he is intent on stirring up trouble as a choice over helping, he can choose to do it in the real World face to face with the people he insults and criticises, he will no longer be allowed to do it in his spineless, faceless way here.
-
Sorry I do appear to have caused a stink again! Really, I AM a nice person but I do have strong opinions and am not averse to express them, either in print or in person. Some people agree with me, many don't. So be it.
-
Meet the Carnival Committee and tell them where they went wrong, and how you would have prevented it. Stop stirring then hiding - it's pretty pathetic from a grown man.

-
A fridge?
Pookies got a fridge!
Excellent, we really are moving on here in bumpkinland
All we need now is electrcity!
-
So how did the cherry festival go then:D
-
What cherry festival??
-
Nif Cherry Festival!!
-
We went to the festival and enjoyed it but when leaving felt rather frightened by the crowds. There was no unpleasantness but the sheer number of people and the difficulty the stewards were having organising them. Saw the Olu Deniz British dancers there!
