I think I'd met them all prior to the forum, maybe not Stoop. I had to wait a little longer for that pleasure.

Yet to have the pleasure of meeting any of those "listed".

This is mildly interesting - in the first week we went up to 47 members, then nobody at all joined for over a week. I'm not even sure I realised that  :)

Just out of interest - when was the busiest week for people to join? And why do you think that was?   :)

One other thing, what is the highest number of people online on cbf at the same time (the old set-up used to show this, and was very interesting.  I was really fed up cos the busiest evening was a night when I was on my way home from Calis!!)  :)

Scunner and I had never met but had spoken via another forum if I remember correctly. After 6 years I met Legless for the first time last month - and he is my next door neighbour in Turkey!!

Seems like yesterday it was all set up  :)

The info was wiped but I think 313 was the highest simultaneous number viewing at the same time. I can't really tell you the busiest week, but 2004 had the most new members joining, although 2009 is looking like it may well beat that. I used to do a monthly stat post but I got the impression that only I was interested  :)

It maybe a difficult question but what's the biggest single change in the Forum that you've seen since 2003

who?
Title: CBF History
Post by: Scunner on July 15, 2009, 22:57:44 PM
I think the biggest change was the way it went from a place where everyone seemed to know each other to a place of hundreds and hundreds of people many of which would never meet  :) The strange thing with that was that in the early days, we'd get far more people turn up for something like a CBF night than nowadays. Far less members but more attended CBF nights, I can't explain that...

Not if your backwards  ;)
Or perhaps I should have said "never mind the quantity feel the width!:D

But on a serious note people probably feel much more connected to the area through the forum and do not feel the need to meet up quite so much now. This is certainly true for me!

It's a strange thing but nowadays I stand in the que at the airport and look at people and wonder whether they are on the forum.

Rimms,  me too !  in fact I know someone was on my flight last month, and i saw someone at the airport who I really thought must be her - but I was just too darn shy to say...Hey, its you off the forum ain't it ??!!   Kick myself now.

Perhaps we should wear badges. We could even have stars on them to show the level of seniority on the forum. Scunner could have a gold one so when we see him we can bow in a "we are not worthy" fashion:D

Actually - I do exactly the same as Rimms and Pookie. How about having some instantly recognisable baggage and hand luggage tags with a CBF logo? £1 each to go into a favoured pot/pots ? Be able to help each other with baggage weight hassles for example - just a thought.x

You can already get the belts that go around the case with your names on, why not put your user name and cbf on there.

Make your own, copy the CBF logo on to a word document, perhaps put your username on the otherside, print it out in colour, laminate and attach - see all those years of Blue Peter did not go to waste.

Hi I miss the bit of information at the bottom of the main page that told you which other members were visiting the forum at the same time as you. Is that going to be available again? :-\

Spent 2 weeks wandering around Calis last month thinking there must be someone around from the forum but no way to find out. Then yesterday saw the "Guvens" post and "Highlander" puts his photo on and I realise that I spent 2 weeks having chats with him. He was staying in the Villa 3 doors from us......... Yes we need I.D. ha ha
