Hi, Thinking about buying a small jeep or something like, does anyone know of any good garages or dealers worth looking at or is everything private sales. Not in a rush or anything but would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks Cleo.

Go to Mugla, Izmir, Ankara etc. the further north you go the cheaper they get.

Wait 'til the end of the holiday season when the hire companies start off-loading them.

Thanks for the info will look on the websites and I am in Fethiye at the end of the season so will look out for the ads in the paper.Thought that the prices in Turkey were generally much more expensive than the UK or is it just Fethiye?

Turkey generally....but Fethiye more so :)

There is another alternative if you dont want to travel to far.On the gunlukbasi to fethiye road,on the left hand side about halfway along, you will see a side road/dirt type, and on the side of the entrance as such, is a sign.it says "Bashos oto,s" The sign is only about 2feet high and hand painted. If you travel about half a mile, up there is a field in which locals pay a few lira to display their car. Details on the screen, but no prices as is the custom here.Good luck

A sort of car boot and windscreen sale???
:) :)

I would personaly give the second hand option a miss, apart from the paperwork you need to plough through, ensuring there are no fines or taxes outstanding etc., the extortionate prices. The new MOT test introduced this year is much more expensive and demanding.
If you REALLY want to buy a car buy a new one. :)
