Hi!
Not realy tonic but a reasonable sub is "Camlica" normal or diet at Migros/Carrefour. just needs a bit of lemon to increase the sharpness.

We also got a diet lemonade kind of thing from Tansas. It was yellow to limegreen in colour, kinda like old fashioned lemonade in taste.

what is diet coke in Turkish
-
I cannot believe a serious gin and tonic drinker wants diet tonic in his/her drink.Diabolical!!!!!!and for the record, you cannot get limes here.So if you want to get close to a real one,get a few lemons now whilst still under developed and sour, they give a similar taste around the neck of the glass good luck.To Kevin!!!!diet coke is called cola light.thats english and turkish.
-
Normally you ask for cola light and they know what your on about.

DIABOLICAL!!!!!!! No Diabetic!!!!!!!!!!! Yes.

fresh limes are for sale in tansas at the moment, by the fish counter. There is a nar (pomegranite) shweppes tonic for sale that has fewer calories than the regular tonic, also in tansas. Happy shopping.

Migros Have them at 19.90TL a kilo,,,,,,At that price I will suffer a bit longer!:(
-
I love this topic. Exactly what I was thinking as I have friend coming out who also prfers to drink G&T. Thanks for the info Guys.
-
The limes you buy over here are imported from Iran or Caribbean ;)
-
No Lance you are wrong.
Limes - at just about this time of year - are sometimes available from the Indoor fruit market in Fethiye. A year ago the advertised price was 12 YTL per Kilo. We haggled them down to 8 YTL per kilo.
The Limes they sold were grown in the Bodrum area. There are hundreds of acres of Lime groves on the Bodrum peninsula.
Maybe Migros only sell Imports!
Having said that, the " Season " only seems to last four to six weeks for the local produce.
