Fethiyespor got their first win of the season last night beating Tepecikspor 2-1 at home and now climb to 5th in the league.A brace of goals from captain Murat Deniz, one a Beckham-like free kick, the other a dodgy penalty earned the victory.A special mention for the referee Serdar Bahcivan, booking 11 players and sending off one from each side.

Fethiyespor whose nickname is The Lightening had an omen before yesterdays match with a massive thunderstorm 10 minutes before kick off,and for the first time in 4 matches managed to score in the 59th and 74th minutes. :)
Just one problem the classy and slick leagueleaders from Akhisar managed to score 5 goals past a sloppy home defence. :o
Fethiye still one from bottom of the league with 2 away matches to come. They are at home again on 8th Nov to Istanbul Bel currently the only team below them.

Another match another dismal result this time losing 3-0 away to Konya who played the last 34 mins with 10 men. This result now puts Fethiyespor bottom of their league with a tough away fixture next sunday at 4th placed Millwall Goztepe.Sunday 8th Nov is the relegation 6 pointer at home to Istanbul Belediye.

Goztepe....I saw the home match (0-0)against them in September I think.
That was an experience!!

What a difference a change of manager makes.Last week a first away win 1-0 at Goztepe thanks to a first half Hasan Eser penalty and this week a 2-1 home win against istanbul Belediye inspired by 2 goals from former captain Murat Deniz, playing his first game for 4 matches since being sent off  for dissent against Eyupspor and being fined 23,000 lira by the club.Goalkeeper Hasan Gedik should also be mentioned for 3-4 top class saves that kept fethiye in the game.Fethiyespor up to 9th,now 1 point away from safety.Away next Sunday then home to 2nd placed Turgutluspor on Nov 22nd.

You can support Marmaris all you like Fletch, they have packed up!Sorry Tinx its 1.30pm kick-offs up until the clocks go forward next spring.
The honeymoon period for new manager Erkan Sozer is now over.A 2-0 defeat away to Tepecikspor was followed yesterday by a lacklustre 0-0 draw at home to a very ordinary but 2nd placed Turgutluspor. The result lifts Fethiye to 9th but a tough away fixture awaits next Sunday at Alanya followed by a home match on 6th Dec against bottom side Denizli,K.O. 1.30.

Yes a change of manager works wonders. My team in Scotland recently
changed the manager and we've managed 9 goals in our last 2 games!
Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: yabanci on November 30, 2009, 08:51:30 AM
Coach Erkan Sozer was bemoning the clubs lack of goals this season for their current poor position in the league, only 11 in 14 matches and 8 scoreless games. So suprise, suprise Fethiyespor scored in the 1st minute of yesterdays game away at 4th placed Alanya. They doubled that lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Murat[Superstar]Deniz, his 7th of the season. However 2 goals from the hosts in the last 4 mins meant the game finished 2-2 and puts Fethiye down to 10th.Only 4 points seperate the bottom 5 teams and Fethiye are at home to bottom side Denizli on Sunday at 1.30pm.Denizli warmed up for that game by thumping Tepecikspor 5-1 yesterday.

Yabanci..keep the reports coming.I love to hear how Fethiyespor are
getting on.Since I went to one of their games a few months back, they
are now my second team (or first Turkey team!). Lets hope they can go
on a decent run in the 2nd half of the season.

For the second week running Fethiye managed to lose the lead to come away with a 2-2 draw this time at home to Denizli. The first 10 minutes contained more excitement than we had seen all season. After 4 mins a towering header from centre forward Coskun Yilmaz put the home side 1-0 up.The lead lasted 2 mins before Denizli equalised with keeper Hakan Gecik beaten rather easily on his near post.On 9 mins Murat Deniz was clean through on goal in the penalty area before being brought down. The Denizli defender was sent off and Deniz converted the penalty for a 2-1 lead, his 8th goal of the season. So far so good but on 58 mins Fethiye centre half Sabri Turgut was shown a second yellow card following his match long battle with Denizlis centre forward. On 62 mins a Denizli free kick some 35 yards out on the touchline managed to float over the head of keeper Gecik for 2-2 which is how it ended.Fethiye stay 10th on 15 points. Two games this week, away at Eyupspor on Weds and at home next Sunday against Sariyer.

Fethiye lost 1-0 this afternoon in Istanbul to Eyupspor,a goal on 27 mins sending them to their second defeat under new coach Erkan Sozer. This result still keeps Fethiye in 10th position equal on points with bottom side Denizli who also lost today.
Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: yabanci on December 14, 2009, 06:04:15 AM
Fethiye lost at home yesterday 2-1 to Sariyer from Istanbul a result which keeps them in 10th position, but of more concern a gap of 5 points to safety.Individual errors are costing us matches was the managers mantra of the week and he was right today. The linesman missed not 1 but 2 Sariyer strikers offside for their first goal.Akif equalised for Fethiye 10 mins before half time. Then full back Eser completely missed his clearence to hand Sariyer their second goal. The referee with a very apt name then sent to the stands Fethiyes Assistant Manager and later on reduced Fethiye to 10 men after showing a red card to Baris Bayram.

Father Christmas came early for all Fethiyespor fans on Sunday. With no wins in the last 6 games the team managed a superb 1-0 victory away to runaway league leaders Akhisar thanks to a 63rd minute strike from Akif, his second goal in 2 games.Fethiye stay 10th with 18 points and a home game to come on Sunday against Konya.
