Title: Drive to turkey

If I remember rightly, you are only allowed to bring your car into Turkey twice,with the gap of 1 year between visits,I was wondering if this rule has changed to allow further visits with the same car ?
could anyone enlightlen me as to the current facts. :)

Up to 6 months in, then at least 6 months out, then 6 months in. After that the vehicle isn't allowed to return. Simple as that.

I asked the question as I see in istanbul many coaches from greece, do they have special dispensation or what, and many trucks from turkey travel to greece EU, I feel sure that they don't just do the journey twice.and logic would say that many people in border region would travel into greece to get fuel. although what logic has to do with government decsions is anyones guess.

They don't enter Turkey for 6 months at a time though !

In theory they can cross the border daily, 182 times, before they are banned for 6 months.

Whether or not Turkish trucks travel to Greece or anywhere else isn't part of the equation.

Logic ? You're 'avin a giraffe mate !

Furthermore, if you check UK Traffic Regulations, you'll see that a similar rule regarding foreign vehicles is in force although it's less strictly policed.

The 3rd paragraph on the DVLA webpage is relevant.

Considering the amount they have to pay to get papers to get their vehicle out of the country and some border points can take upto 12 hours to cross (kapikule for example), this just isnt a done thing and also has no bearing on the subject of a foreign registered non commercial vehicle entering the country on tourist reasons.
Coaches and trucks are commercial vehicles and are subject to much different rules.
