Hi Mark - Did you get your residency permit from the UK before you arrived in Turkey? If so is the process pretty simple - Thanks - Debbie

Debbie You have to apply from here, Turkey.Theres a recent thread on here regarding this
{A Link to an old CBF topic was here - no longer available}28200&whichpage=1

Also please ignore above rates as it was for 2009 and there has been an increase in 2010.

Sorry to sound thick, but what is the difference between a residency visa and a residency permit? and are you supposed to have both?
Thanks. Chris

This is explained in the visa thread.
reisdence visa is a stamp that you get from the Turkish consulate (waste of time and money as explained).
Residence permit is the blue book you get from the foreigners police.
I have a residence permit but have never had a residence visa.
I also have a work permit but that goes into the same blue book. I have also got a work visa which is the large green stamp that takes up almost a full page in your passport and is issued at the Turkish consulate.

Thank you Starman.

As stated above there is a section for this lower down the page. I'll lock this one as the original question has been answered and there are other discussions going on in the correct section :)
