Post by: Pi55y on September 04, 2009, 22:07:04 PM

The first General committee meeting of the Calis Carnival Committee  will take place on Wednesday 30 September - time and venue to be announced.

Anyone who has expressed an interest in helping with the 2010 Calis Carnival Fundraising programme and the Carnival itself, please could you note this date in your diary. Everyone has a skill and new ideas to offer and we await you :D :D

If you are thinking of helping out please could you e-mail me so that we have an idea of numbers for the venue.

Has there been a Calis Carnival Calender printed for 2010 and if so when would that be available ?

There will most certainly be a Calis Carnival Calendar.  We are presently getting prices and we have taken everybody's advice and on this year's design are making a bigger space for people to write in. It should hopefully be available from mid/late October so please hang on to buy your calendars  :) They will also make great pressies or even an alternative to a Christmas card :D.

Will the 2010 calendar once again show typical scenes of the area? I have a great one of someone being mugged at an ATM. It isn't from Calis but it'd do a job :D

Sorry  8)

Funnily enough we did not have any photos like this entered into our photography competition, nor any pin number photos :D

This is the same reply that I made to the post from Captain Squiffy about me, sunnyd (Nikkie), being made a moderator on the forum.
But I also thought that the same post could be made here under 'Calis Carnival' as I attended the carnival meeting....

The meeting was a great insight to ALL of the hard work that the Carnival committee and helpers do!

We can all sit back and enjoy the build up to, the week of, and the main event being.. the Calis Carnival. And then (!!) comment on the experience!...
BUT to actually be there, to plan, and DO IT, is a different story, as I personally found out today!

There is A LOT... and I mean A LOT!! of hard work and personal sacrifice that goes in to every aspect of the Carnival.
They have a great committee, fundraising and sponsorship network... but the residents of Calis, Turkish, British and European alike should get involved in someway  8)

Well said Nikkie - think the carnival committe are worth their weight in gold and they do a sterling job for very little thanks and take lots of (IMHO)uncalled for critisism along the way !
I support you all 150 percent and know that I could not do it full time  ;)without committing murder !!!!!!:D: :)
I personally put my energies into the animal world in Calis/Fethiye as that is my passion - along with lots of other like minded friends
We are all here to make yhis place great to live in
Its just a pity that the whingers don't redirect their energy to a worthy cause and help you lot rather than critisise what you do
Love Sue x

Hi Nikkie. It was good to meet you yesterday. The turn out was brilliant, many more than we expected. If we all stay the course it should be a super year. Anne xx

Yes we had 25 at the first meeting and another 4 who want to help but could not make the meeting - a great start and we hope everyone will stay the course.  There were lots of new ideas and much enthusiasm and hopefully 2010 Carnival will be the best ever :D

I know the amount of work that it takes to do this and i think that you all do a great job on the committee,by the way what size of trainers does that dog take as they look huge?
