Post by: jay01 on September 06, 2009, 15:01:46 PM
How do person living in Turkey access healthcare and dental treatment?

What is the rough cost of insurance and is it effected by preexhisitng conditions?

If you do have to access treatment what is the quality of care like?

I'm going to add to this one - also if you are working and paying Turkish tax etc....... do you qualify for subsidised treatment at state hospitals?

If you are working, your employer should be paying for social insurance, this would cover you at state hospitals (although, a small contribution is usually charged) and would get you a cheaper rate at private hospitals.
Dentists vary in price, generally very reasonable.
Health Insurance, I can't help you on, we have not had any for some years now.

just had reasons to go to government hospital and was agreeably surprised by both the treatment and the cost. Was seen by two doctors had xrays blood and urine tests and given all results the next day total cost 70 lira.No complaints at all. Some good dentists about but most of them seem to operate a two tier system ie. a higher price for yabancis.
