has anybody flown with them and whay were they like. Also,it states "up tp 32kg" for hold baggage. Is this correct?
-
I flew back with them in august as good as any other not sure about the 32 kg though
-
32kg is the largest permissible weight for a single bag for health and safety reasons. It doesn't generally mean your allowance is 32kg :)
-
Pegasus was fine when we flew back from Istanbul to Stansted last November (remember airport is outside of Istanbul itself) and it was 23kg allowance each person. There is a Havas bus from Taksim Square on the hour every hour and it cost 10 TL each. We have booked flights again this November as we enjoyed our stay in Istanbul so much last year! Weather was perfect to sightsee at the beginning of November too. 23kg allowance again free - beats other no frills airlines!
-
thanks.x.
-
Flew with them Stansted-Istanbul return in May , no problems, plus book your own seat for abour £3 each way.

We're booked on Pegasus in May flying from Stansted. As I understand it we switch planes in Sabiha Gokcen airport (which I assume is outside Istanbul) - has anyone experienced this switch and is it pretty straightforward (regettably having to suffer aged mother-in-law who is partially disabled). Grateful for any advice on this (the flight - not the mother-in-law:D)

In case you are not aware Easyjet are now flying from Stansted to Dalaman. Great news for you and ourselves and anyone who prefers Stansted :)
Good to have more choice and Hopefully TC will now lower their fares
Badger :)
-
Thanks Badger. I didn't realise they had moved the flight from Gatwick but it will be very good news and their prices seem very competitive plus the car parking savings. Thanks for the update. flight times are very reasonable too.

Pegasus, are they any good?, my son travelled with them on 21st december. at check in they said they had lowered baggage allowance from 20kg to 15kg due to cancelled flight passengers being on board from day before. they were fining people who had 20kg! then my son got to desk with only hand luggage (not even a case) but the hand luggage was 0.5kg over so they said you need to put it in hold, it had my laptop in it and his clothes. he got to dalaman and no luggage turned up. went to lost and found where there was a queue of people, some had lost christmas presents for the kids etc. they were all shouted at as if it was their fault, and the staff sat there yawning. So far, everyday they have said phone tomorrow, or phone in 2 hours. they told him it would be here on monday. Monday arrived and they said sorry we have no news. he asked them why they told us it would be here monday and they said we thought it might be.
Bearing in mind he had told them that he would be back in UK on 28th, they told him they could only deliver it here and he would need to be here to claim it, he cancelled his flight and rebooked for next monday. 2 weeks he hasnt had any clothes and no offer to replace them. he even told them that in the montreal convention governing airlines they are duty bound to offer compensation. he was informed they dont know what that is. and then they said sorry no news phone tomorrow and if no news contact manchester airport. We have now contacted manchester airport who say its nothing to do with them, the airline need to deal with it. as he wasnt taking a case on board only carry on he didnt insure for a case, but all airlines are required to give compensation apparently except this one!! we've been hung up on, ignored. put on hold and never taken off it. so as of now we still don't have news. Are they any good? i guess you will have to make your own mind up. Alan

What an unfortunate episode Alan
Did the airline also charge for re-booking the return flight ?
I suppose it was a trip to the sunday market for a few Ben Sherman's
-
I have the Stansted to Dalaman via Istanbul flight booked for March, and my tickets show luggage allowance of 25kg, and their web site is showing the same for flights to the UK. Have also heard of a few horror stories of lost luggage recently for the same journey, and the luggage ended up in Zurich. Saying that, I have also heard of good reports etc, and even lost luggage turning up in fethiye the following day by courior. We always hear the worst, and for anyone who has travelled this route and about to do so, lets hope they get their act together and these bad incidents are few and far between. For gorgeuos bird, as far as I know, and i'm sure others can confirm! at Istanbul if everything is to time, it is just a 50 minute turnaround to depart one aircraft, get thru the airport and check in again for the domestic leg down to Dalaman.
-
Number 2 - thanks for the heads up on this, I'll be sure to only take hand luggage and sounds a bit like most airlines that when things go wrong they tend to go wrong big time although lack of communication is unacceptable. I had the same experience with KLM a few weeks ago.
Just one thing for anyone who can advise, where do you get your tourist visa then?: is it in Istanbul as you change planes or do you eventually get it at Dalaman.
-
my sister got hers at Istanbul
But they were bussed to the international arrivals at Dalaman to pick up their luggage
She said both ways the journey was straightforward she carried 25kg of luggage but this was early December so it may have changed Thankfully, all her luggage arrived with her
-
Thanks Harmless, glad to see someone had a reasonable flight.
-
My sons luggage finally turned up, hooray, it arrived on the plane he had boarded to fly back on, 2 weeks after it had gone missing, Dalanman airport phoned me up to say it was there, roughly 5 minutes after his flight had taken off, the strange thing was, i was outside the arrivals gate waiting for a neighbour, so i managed to enter the terminal building and get the bag, now i have to pay £10 to take it back to Manchester, that's on top of cost of all the phone calls we've made to both airports, if they had phoned up this morning, we could have told them to keep it at Manchester and he could have picked it up when he landed, now he has to wait til i get over there with it, another strange thing about it all, it wasn't even sent back on the Pegasus flight that landed today, it was actually sent on the Thomas Cook flight that landed near enough the same time, Perhaps they thought Pegasus might lose it again. I flew in with Pegasus yesterday from Manchester, no problems at all. I flew to Manchester last week with them also and had a great flight...3 seats to myself. On arrival to collect my baggage from the carousel I did see an awful lot of luggage piled floor to ceiling that obviously belonged to someone. The guy who seemed to be in charge of it explained that most of it was from the flights of the previous week when the flights were all over the place due to bad weather. They were working through it to try and get it back to it's rightful owner...only trouble was most of it had no actual name and address on, therefore they were waiting for people to claim it... a week on from losing it!!!!!!!

Used them October 2009. Flights on time, no probs at all.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences both good and bad. We're committed to the May trip so I'll post after that with my thoughts on the process and hope I'm not left kicking myself for losing nerve over booking - then finding next day that easyjet flights have moved to within 15 minutes from home. As ever some robust views from the contributors to the site, which has to be a good thing.
-
I know the feeling Essex Boy...
we booked with Easyjet from gatwick for May and now they fly from Stantead!!! 30 minutes away from us!!!!!!!!
Oh well... next time it will be from our local airport....

I am flying with them on Saturday, Dalaman - Stansted, for those who have done this flight is the check in at the Domestic or International terminal?
-
I don't think you will find an International flight is likely to have a checkin in the Domestic Terminal.....Illogical Mr Spock. :)
-
The flight goes via Istanbul - therefore the check in is in the Domestic terminal. On the retun flight, you fly into teh domestic terminal but are bussed to the International terminal for baggage reclaim. You also have to pass through duty free - which is their logic no doubt!! However, if you only have hand luggage you can leave from the domestic terminal if you so wish.
-
Thanks Linda.
Brian not such a silly question after all with 2 different replies. I have just spoken to ATM Dalaman and they have cofirmed as Linda says, that check in is in the domestic terminal. I guess i will find out for sure at 7am in the morning.(sorry don't know how to put a smiley face in)
-
In the circumstance no but your initial inquiry made no mention of going via Istambul which is of course a domestic flight :) To put one of these :) just click on whatever smiley you want on the left hand side of the page where you are typing your message 8)

I had to sign for my sons luggage, fair enough, but on arriving home i actually read the receipt i had signed(i never had my reading glasses with me at the airport), in small print it says i have no further claim against them, would that stand up in a court of law in Turkey, does anyone know? Alan

Absolutely well peed off!!!!
Seen a flight for £166 on Pegasus, just been online to book it, it asked me to register on their website, which I tried to do, but it declined my address details saying they weren't correct. I selected cancel button, went back to book flight and guess what?
IT HAD GONE UP BY £30!!!
It has been £166 all week!!
I know the flight is still cheap, but i'm still annoyed! [:(!][:(!]
-
Jenny try clearing the your browser cache. If that don't work then maybe someone beat you to the flight!
I have booked our flight with Pegasus in the last week I can't remember having to login to their website.
forgot to say that I had to clear the cache to get the price I wanted back again.
-
Jesus! Now it's not taking my payment!!!! [:(!]
-
Just been on Pegasus again, flight there for £166, when I enter my details it says error on page, when I go back into it, flight is £190! Don't want to book the £190 in case I go back on and cheaper flight is there! Is this their way of saying that paricular flight is not avalable? Getting VERY mad now!! [:(!]
-
i would go try doing it from somewhere else, maybe im paranoid but sounds like it knows your IP address!
