Hi all
Takeing our small dog to Doha at the beginning of December, however a local law in Doha states that an animal (any size) has to go by cargo.
Anyone know of a company that can arrange to take our dog to Istanbul and place on a specific flight as Cargo. ??
Thanks in advance
Steve

Who are you flying with? Your airline should be able to offer cargo or recommend someone.

Hi Jackstee, so glad that you're taking the dog with. Just a word of advice although I'm sure you already know. To export a dog from Turkey it has to have all the vaccines, rabies shot, blood tests etc and you do have to get 'permission' from the government for it to leave the country. If you didn't know all this your vet will be able to advice you. Your vet will probably be able to help with tansport to Istanbul as well.
I'be been trying to ship a dog out for weeks now, she'll hopefully be going next week when some friends are driving to Turkey, picking her up and taking her to Germany. It is a nightmare though.
Good luck

It's funny how you can read a topic title completely wrong sometimes

We shipped our cat back to UK last week with very little problem.
Flight arranged by "Petsawayuk" they were great and sorted all paperwork with Defra and booked the cat as cargo which we couldnt do from here.
No Turkish paperwork needed this end, only a fit to travel certificate from your vet, Emre from Pet-life in Gunlukbasi took us to the airport and was a great help.
Awaybill and Defra doc's can all be posted via internet and will be needed at Dalaman.
Because of quarantine and no pet passport valid in Turkey the cat will have Rabies injections on arrival at the kennels in UK so didn't have that done here, just the normal jabs as they are cheaper here, no blood tests needed.
On arrival in UK he was taken to Animal Reception Center then picked up by the cattery.
Dalaman was fun as no-one knew what to do with the cat, eventually he borded via the passenger terminal and had to be taken out of his crate to pass x-ray which caused great delight to everyone, good job he is a laid back cat.
Dogs to Uk is same procedure just a bigger crate.
If anyone needs more advice please ask.

Thanks all
Carlie, our dog, has traveld quiet a bit noe. To Muscat, Islamabad,Fethiye and now off to Qatar. He is up to date with all his paper work, it's just that with the winter flight schedule it would be good to pick up a Qatar Airlines flight from Istanbul, they insist that the Charlie goes Cargo and if I remember correctly that can be a pain in Istanbul.
Just wondered if anyone knew of a pet shipper that was based IN Turkey.
Regards
Steve

Sumerman are registered to transport pets but I could never get a reply from them so went elsewhere.

Here are Sumerman's details. They moved us from the UK (but not our pets), we were very happy with their handling of our things, all arrived safely. Cengiz speaks good English, but isn't good in keeping you up to date with proceedings.

Jackstee, did you ever hear from Sumermans?
-
No I didn't.
But we got charlie to doha inside the cabin by using a very small carrier.
We could take him out when in the air but he didn't like it as he was very cramped.
One of the good things is that we booked him right through from Dal;Dalaman,Istanbul, Doha for 70 lira.
Rgds
