This subject bombed.
BUT
The reason I asked was I was trying to decide if I should have it or not and wanted some views on it.

But I am an adult and sometimes have to make decisions for myself.
As I work in a hospital we were offered it and being a coward about injections I put it off as long as I could.  During this time some of my colleagues did have the jab and had some minor flu type symptoms.
I must admit I did not want to volunteer to have someone stick a needle in my arm but as I work with a vulnerable group I felt I should have it.
As two of us were heading back from the ward we passed the clinic and my colleague dragged me in.
My arm is a bit sore like someone has thumped it but otherwise so far I am ok.
We were given a leaflet that said who should NOT get it.  Allergic to eggs etc.
HOPE this helps

If you have the Swine Flu jab, should you also have a Flu jab too, or is it combined??

No they are not combined they are different viruses.  I had flu jab two weeks ago and swine two days ago. Swine flu was not available at my surgery when I got flu jab.

I had the normal flu jab a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a cold or any other side affects. Also got a pneumonia jab which I didn't even know existed. I will get the swine flu jab just as soon as it's offered.

Interesting about the side effects. I found this:

Does the flu vaccine give you the flu?

Contrary to popular belief, all experts argue that you cannot get the flu from the flu vaccine because it contains no 'live' virus just the molecules that prime the body's immune system to fight off the potential virus.

Despite that, many people complain of feeling unwell afterwards. There are many possible reasons for this.

The NHS leaflet on flu immunisation warns that "some people may experience mild flu-like symptoms for up to 48 hours after immunisation as their immune system responds to the vaccine, but this is not flu".

And side-effects stipulated by the vaccine manufacturers include a sore arm at the site of injection, headache, fatigue, sweating, a slight temperature, pins and needles, shivering and aching muscles.

I have heard that one place up our way was giving the two at the same time. I personally would rather have some time between them

GPs are in line for huge bonuses if they manage to persuade large numbers of their patients to sign up to the swine flu jab, it has emerged.

I personally would not have it, read about it first before you decide

Had the flu jab last week, when I asked about the swine flu jab I was told that they only had 500 and that although I am regarded as a front line worker
I would have to wait till the next batch comes in.
Still waiting.

A lot of nurses in the hospital said the same thing a few months ago and the majority of them have taken it after reading the literature that we were given.  I watched to see how they got on before going for it myself.

Still no serious symptoms and arm is only sore if I touch it.

Mike....if you are frontline staff can you get it at your local hospital?   I know I met some social care staff that I worked with in the hospital r eporting for the jab.

Your employer should be able to tell you if you are able to a hospital.
The two ladies I spoke of work with Social work dept in Learning disabilities and were obviously told to go to the hospital.

Still no symptoms!!!!!

I have had my jag and survived.  I would recommend going for it but only you can decide what is right for you.
My daughter had it and was really ill with it. One guy at work was off for three weeks
I had what might have been a mild dose as did my husband and grandson.
Several others I have spoken to have had a mild form. I wondered if there was any point to it but I work in a hospital and have close contact with vulnerable people so I felt I had a duty to go for it.
