Title: More Beatles on Ukulele
Post by: stoop on October 30, 2009, 10:10:21 AM
They are still going strong with this project - some really good versions (some not so good).

Only 2 and a bit years to go before they complete the work:

Goerge Harrison was a member of "The George Formby Appreciation Society" and was often found at weekend getogethers in Blackpool!!!!

He'd probably be well made up then. As I said - some are really good and lots are quite obscure Beatles tracks (to me anyway). Obviously Jamie Rae's 'Good Night' is one of my favs but Emily Zuzic's version of 'Hold me Tight' also stands out. It's also quite interesting to read the essays on the music and a little more about the artists.

What they will do with them all when they reach the eve of the Olympics remains to be seen.

I didn't like it first time but it grows on you.  Went to see the group in Glasgow and it was a good night.
I prefer them doing Radioheads "Let Down" it should be on the same clip.
I have always liked Bob Marley and visited his mountain  and Kingston homes when we were in Jamaica.

Latest offering - 'And I Love Her'

One of my McCartney favourites. NOt sure this version quite captures the song though.

This blogspot is still going strong - some nice versions since November. Scroll down and listen to Get Back and even further - Norwegian Wood. Classic songs in a different light.
