What is this fascination that the film industry has with vampires?
They are never off the telly. Now they are on the front page of my computer. :-\
I was terified after seeing my first Dracula at sixteen and every time I see an ad for them, I get flashbacks to lying in bed too frightened to put the lights out.

its something people can get there teeth into :D:D

I asked for that ;)

Heather - not my thing, but my daughter (and the vast majority of her teenage friends) have read the Twilight series of books and have been enchanted by the story. I haven't read them myself, but everyone I speak to that has read them really enjoyed them - saying they were beautifully written and totally fascinating. The second film in the series, 'New Moon' was released yesterday, to great acclaim. Of course, it could have something to do with the stunning male lead......!

Bram Stoker who wrote Dracula stayed in Cruden Bay at the Kilmarnock Arms, they have the guest book with his comments. He loved the area so much he rented a cottage at Whinnyfold and then he was a guest at Slains Castle which is on the cliffs overlooking the sea, they say that the night he was there was a stormy one and he got his inspiration to write Dracula during this stay. We look out across the countryside to Slains Castle and the sea. We get lots of tourists in the area because of the Dracula connection so it can only be good for Aberdeenshire.
Unfortunately, it's a ruin now, and it's going to be turned into flats. Here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Slains_Castle

Maybe it is time for some aversion therapy: :)

I has a facination with vampires when I was a teenager. I also loved the rock bands Alice Cooper and black sabbath. In my daughters teen years it was Nirvana with Kurt Kubain. All things dark and gothic for your average teen. [xx(]: :)[xx(] It does pass.
-
Don't mind the rock bands I liked both of them.
Vampires I passed on pretty quickly

I'm one of the few thats not obsessed with Twilight or New Moon. I've read the books - not that brilliant.
True Blood however is pretty hot when it comes to vampires.
Actually, I'm not that obsessed with vampires either.
More of a Team Jacob girl myself ;)
-
Come on Tiddly, explain to this oldie what a Team Jacob girl is?
-
Haha, I'm sure you don't look it.
In Twilight there's Edward the vampire (Rob Pattinson) and then there's Jacob the werewolf (Taylor Lautner) Bella is romantically linked with both - more with Edward though.
With the whole massive fanbase, most split themselves between Team Edward and Team Jacob, depending on who they think is hotter or whatever.
I prefer Jacob, making me a part of Team Jacob.
Does that explain it? :D
-
Thank you that explains it.
I have seen an interview with Edward --he is a little cutie.
Jacob has low brows --probably hides a temper.
Can I start a team Carlisle--- he has a lovely smile.
Just in case any body else doesn't know what this is about

No way! I love Carlisle! but in the first film it looked like someone and just pushed his head into a four bag. Hope it looks better in New Moon.
And NOOOO Edward isn't cute! Jacob is!!!
