Just got a nice note from Aegean to say my flights on December 20th from Manchester (OHY 380) are cancelled as are the return flights on Jan 3rd from Dalaman.
They have offered some other flights for the 21st returning the 4th which is not so bad but will cause a problem for those who need to be back at work on Monday January 4th.
-
I've also had a lovely email today telling me that our flights from Dalaman to Gatwick on 21st Dec have been cancelled. They offered an alternative from Bodrum!! No good with a 3 month old baby...
-
Donna the same thing happened to my daughter in the the summer, why would you want to bus 4 hrs to Bodrum tell them to refund your money as she did.look for a flight the same day from Dalaman
Ron
-
It's OK telling them to refund your money, but that won't replace the holiday that you had your heart set on and if you try and book elsewhere at this short notice, you will probably have to pay a lot more.
Aegean had to credit me £240 on the Pegasus flights booked to replace.
Tell them you want a private transfer from Bodrum.
-
We've gone for a full refund and have booked new flights from Antalya to Gatwick on 22nd Dec with Thomas Cook as the Dalaman flight worked out at 325 Euros one-way for 2 adults and 1 infant. I said I wasn't happy and felt we should get some kind of compensation and they gave us £20 each on top of our refund. Although we now have to get to Antalya it'll be a private transfer where as the coach transfer they offered to Bodrum was from Dalaman so we'd have still had to get there 1st. Only wish we'd booked Thomas Cook in the 1st place. If anyone else is in this position then the flights from Antalya are only 44 Euros at the mo....

Our flights with aegean on 28th Dec from manchester to dalaman returning on Mon 4th jan have had the times and airline changed. Now flying on a pegasus flight and approx 1/2 hr earlier each way than originally booked.
-
we too have had our flights changed as follows:
was 21st december ex lgw ohy364 dep 21.55 arr dalaman 03.50
now 21st december ex kgw pgt dep 18.40 arr dalaman 23.40
was 3rd jan ex dlm ohy363 dep18.45 arr lgw 20.00
now 3rd jan ex dlm pgt dep15.50 arr lgw 17.50
was informed that there was another onuair flight leaving lgw at 23.00 on the 21st december worth checking!!
check with aegean on the following number they will answer as holidays4u
telephone: 01273 426430 ask for wendy she is a supervisor
this is a warning reconfirm your flight back we had a friend who did not do this recently with onuair and missed the flight as they moved the dep times, and cost him £600 for a new flight, and he did not travel until the next day, you have been warned don't risk it.
not nice being left at dalaman nothing open and what is, is at a ex stream cost, also remember liquid restrictions start at dalaman 1st jan 2010.

Good point that Chris, I wonder if they have done anything about the ridiculous price of water in the airport?
-
Yes! They have out the price up as they were not selling much.:(
-
I sent an email to ATM DALAMAN Airport regarding the prices of water etc over a week ago but have not had a reply as yet

Funny enough I sent one on 14th, I also am still awaiting a reply, they seem about as reliable as an Onur air flight!
-
Hi Gunna,
We were on the same flight as you (OHY 364) from Gatwick, but we were offered a flight to Bodrum with a 3 1/2 hour coach transfer!!! at least you are flying to Dalaman, they have offered a full refund if we dont accept the new flight did you get the same deal?
-
Hi Don, its all change again............new flight details as follows:
ALL ON PGT 616
21 DEC DEP LGW 19.00
22 DEC ARR BJV 00.55
22 DEC 2.5 hour coach transfer from bodrum to dalaman airport then your arrangements
04 JAN DEP DLM 16.45
04 JAN ARR LGW 19.00
They have offered a £20 per person refund if you change to the above or a full refund, we do not want to miss out on not being in calis over christmas so will opt to go, as we do not return to uk until the monday 4th Jan will need an extra days holiday, I am still waiting for the boss to give me the ok, if we get the ok at least the coach is only one way on the way out, it would be a nightmare if it was on the way back, when you are going home you just what to go and not mess about on the way back, well we do.
If you do go pm your mobile and we can meet up at gatwick if you want too that is if you want to.
Chris
-
Hi Chris
Thats exactly the same times we have been offered, but there was no mention of a £20 refund.
Will pm you
Don
-
Hi, well have now got the ok from my company so we are going, Don, if I were you I would go back and ask for the £20 each person refund tell them you have had to take extra time off work to meet there requirements and get them to credit your card the same day, I had to do this last year without any problem, if you don't ask you don't get, you will need it to stock up with more food and drink for the journey, the airline prices onboard in euro's are as expensive as that of dalaman and bodrum airport for food and drinks etc.
see you at gatwick
Chris
ps. anyone got any idea of the correct travel time from bodrum to dalaman airport??
-
We took the full refund on our flights from DLM to Gatwick on 21st Dec and I said I felt we should be offered some kind of compensation and they gave us £20 per person, the same as you've been offered.
-
That's terrible Chris, you have now been told 2 different stories in less than a week. I'm now starting to panick as I can't find any reference to Pegasus flying from Manchester to Dalaman.
-
No need to panic George, they'll have chartered the plane from Pegasus rather than it being a Pegasus scheduled route.
-
George, you will not find anything from the airline as they are acting as a charter to Aegean, from Manchester, the same as us from Gatwick, however they will need to sent you a new booking invoice straight away your eticket will follow in an email some time next week, the problem they are having is the re-booking of people and some people have been slow in confirming the changes.
anyhow we will be in calis that's the main thing, be that its a hell of traveling day/night.
see you there
Chris
-
Chers Guys,
I have had the new booking invoice from them but not the eticket, I will keep my eyes open and fingers crossed.
-
I to am now flying on Pegasus into Manchester on 28th Dec. Can anyone tell me which terminal we will fly into. Onur air use terminal 2 while Pegasus use terminal 1. As they are using Pegasus in replace of onur does this mean we still fly to terminal 2
-
Gunna - if the transfer to/from Bodrum is by coach then it will take at least 3 1/2 hours.
-
yeh' thought it would, I knew the airline was out on there times, typical airline/agents lingo 'tell them something they want hear' but thanks for the info.......................its going to be long old night
Chris
-
Kevman, suggest you contact your agent to find out
Chris
-
Hi kevman, just found out for you, that you will be arriving at terminal two (2) at Manchester airport on the 28th, hope this info helps
chris
-
For anyone interested
Booking AEGEAN - flying out Manchester 28 December - received the following Itinerary:
Mon 28th December 2009: Manchester > Dalaman (PGT432)
09:20 Depart Manchester (MAN) - 15:30 Arrive Dalaman (DLM)
PGT = Pegasus
Checking Manchester Airport Web Site:
PEGASUS AIRLINES PGT = TERMINAL 1
-
Hi Gunna, Many thanks for that. It doe's help as I have someone picking me up and I need them to be at the right terminal.
Also in reply to Braveheart, we know Pegasus use terminal 1, but the question was about onur air using Pegasus as a change of airline. We now know that the flight is going into terminal 2. Hopefully this information will help others as well.
-
we have lost a day of our hols we booked flight 5th march 09 for 20th dec this has now been changed to 21st and now flying pegasus instead of onur which we have always been allowed 20 kg baggage and today we have received our e tickets we are now having to drop to 15kg with pegasus not only have we lost a day but bag allowance also any advice would be appeciated on this matter we have not been offered the £20 compensation which would help towards the excess bagage charge i know we will now incurr would we be entitled to compen for loosing a day cheers peter
-
Peter, I sent an email to Aegean about the 15kg luggage allowance shown on the Pegasus E Tickets and they have advised me to ignore it and that the original 20kg allowance still applies. I will be taking this confirmation with me to the airport in case their is any argument at the check in desk.
-
George, I have also sent an e-mail to them still waiting for a reply, out of interest Pegasus flight HS9502 departing stanstead to istanbal on the 21st december 25kgs hold baggage 5 kgs hand surely as we are flying on a pegasus service it should be the carriers standard conditions, I have asked the question, however they will properly come back stating that HS9502 is a schedule service and not a charter which is what we are all traveling on, will let you know there response.
Chris
-
Hi all, reference baggage allowance, the following message has been received as follows:
Your e-ticket 4***** Tuesday December 8, 2009 9.51 AM
Hello Lynne,
Yes I can confirm that you will receive 20kg and 5kg baggage allowance.
There was an error on the system and it has been rectified and a new tickets confirming the stated allowance has been sent to you.
Kindest Regards
Natalie
natalie@h4u.co.uk
-
I also emailed regarding the flight on 28th Dec from manchester to Dalaman and had an email reply stating we do have 20 kilos hold allowance and 5 kilos hand luggage allowance. The e ticket sent to us had an error on it regarding the allowance which they cant rectify They have also stated we will be flying from terminal 2.
-
Many thanks for that info skipking, I was also wondering what had happened to the 20 kilos we had with Onur air. A carrier difference shouldn't alter the baggage capacity when the baggage has been agreed so it is nice to know we have still got the 20 kilo's and not 15kgs.....I was thinking about all my sausages!!!!!!!.
-
If anyone is waiting for compensation for messed up/changed flights with Aegean - don't hold your breath! We are still waiting for the £60 that Aegean promised us in September when they changed our flights from Bristol to Birmingham to Gatwick, and finally, to Manchester (only 165 miles away from South Wales)!!! :o
Have emailed them, and written to them TWICE!! I had a message left on my mobile about two weeks ago, apologising for the delay, and saying that the cheque was waiting to be signed, and would be posted out the following morning! :(
I feel another letter coming on ...............
By the way, our flights were for half term week in October, so long gone now - and still no cash back!! :-\[8)][xx(]
-
RIMMS, Thank for the info I got it confirmed Today and recieved my e-tickets stating we had 20kg. Cheers Peter.
-
Can someone give me the email address for Aegean please
-
kevman, goto natalie@h4u.co.uk or admin@h4u.co.uk or info@aegeanflights.com
Aegean are wholly owned by holidays 4 you
You will get a response by return, hope this info help's
Chris
-
I had a similar problem in the past and was getting nowhere with a promised refund. Took them to the small claims court on line and they coughed up with costs almost immediately!
-
we have received our refund cheque of £40 as agreed, if you are still having problems e-mail natalie@h4u.co.uk or wendy@h4u.co.uk both are customer service supervisors or use this number +44(0)1273 426430
Chris
-
Hi Gunna, Many thanks for the email address and also for your previous info.
-
We have been told we are not entitled to any compensation as Goldtrail are ofering us a free transfer to Dalaman from Bodrum, to be honest I have found them quite patronising on the phone and would seem to me with a could not care less attitude!
-
Karennina, suggest you go back to Goldtrail and tell that you want the compensation, the operator Hoilday's 4 you is giving Goldtrail the refund if you don't believe me phone the number below that I have listed, don't give up you will get it, we are on a free transfer to Dalaman from Bodrum and still got the £20 per person refund, I know we booked direct but we have friends traveling from Manchester/Dalaman who used an agent (not Goldtrail) and got there compensation as hoilday's 4 you, changed the departure/return date and times to another charter flight.
Stand up for your consumer rights phone H4U on 01273 426430 don't give up
Chris
-
Thanks for that Chris much appreciated, we did not book with holiday's for u though, we are booked with Low cost holidays, and quite honestly I wont be using them again, I would rather pay a bit extra in future and go to the right airport. I will try again with them re the compensation.
Cheers Karen.

Don't give up the fight of course, but your consumer rights do not entitle you to compensation. They have to provide transport to your original airport without charge, and they must offer you the option of a full refund. As far as I know, that's all I'm afraid.
-
Hi, Keith, is right with his assumption of your rights under consumer law, don't give up, not only do they have to provide the free transfer to your original destination, they have also in this case moved your departure (in turkey) date and times from the 3rd jan to 4th jan, one could argue that you are getting an extra days holiday, but what if you have to be back at work on the 4th, it could be tricky with your employer hence the £20 compensation not a lot, but worth having.
On another point
If the operator has made certain promises and fails to supply such services that you have paid for, then its a breach of contract, and you could if you wish take them to a small claims court, there is no set rule so its looked at case by case.
useful websites that you may wish to look at for guidance as follows:
www.consumerdirect.gov.uk
www.tradingstandards.gov.uk
www. nacab.org.uk
www.abta.com
Please as said earlier don't give up.
Chris
-
Hi Gunna, I received email by return today with new eticket and 20kgs of luggage printed on it.
Grateful thanks to you for all your help.
-
Our flight was cancelled on Sunday 20th December (Dalaman to Manchester) they moved us on to the Monday flight 21st December, we have got our tickets through with 20kgs baggage allowance and today I e:mailed them and asked for our 40 pound compensation and this afternoon I received an telephone call from Aegean to tell me they have credited my credit card with 40 pounds so you should be entitled to it Karennina everyone else seems to have been compensated.
-
You are really lucky Sooty! We are STILL waiting for our £60 compensation from Aegean and our flight was in October!! I'm wondering why they haven't just refunded our card, rather than us having to wait for a cheque refund (it's taken about 10 weeks, so far!) I've typed another letter tonight, but running out of steam now - they offered us the £60 compensation early October which we accepted - it's just getting our hands on the flipping money now which is the problem!!! :o :-\ 8):(
-
Julie, I said it before, please telephone Hoildays4you on 01273 426430 and ask for wendy she is a supervisor, she will get things sorted out for you just give her your booking ref:4*****
And advise her that if it is not sorted out by close of play Tuesday 15th December and the monies are not credited to your card, you will take legal action, I don't think for one minute that you will have to go to court, but be prepared, its quite easy you will have do this via your nearest county court, I had to do it for an travel insurance claim thia year it took a long time to get it sorted, but we did win the case and they paid up in full including the court fees.
Good Luck
Chris
-
Well what a nightmare Goldtrail keep saying it is up to our agent to sort out and Low Cost Hols do not want to know! I have told them they can keep £92 towards their admin fees and refund me £400 but they just do not care! This has now become a matter of principal and I am doing the small claims court thing online I really did not want to bring my son into this, but my son has autism and this is the first year in nineteen years that we were / are going away so I am also going for compensation for ruined travel plans, it will cost me £35 but I do not care about that. The flight was also changed for the return journey and we would have to allow at least seven hours for travel and check in that is just ridiculous!
Thanks so much for all the help and advice that has been offered via the forum.
-
Hi Karen. I have PM you, as you are now airing your private life on an open forum, thanks.
Chris
-
Finally had our compensation cheque for £60 today. It's only taken 4 months from when we had the first phone call changing our original booking!! :(
Think Aegean will have to be the last resort from now on! Not booked with them at all for next year. :)
-
Well done Julie I am really pleased for you.
Karen
-
I feel the same about T.Cook, and dont fancy Easyjet, our options are fast reducing. but glad you got your refund Ju,
-
Does anybody know which terminal we fly from tomorrow[Monday] on the pegasus flight replaced from onur air they have said its terminal 2 but am beginning to wonder?
Thanks,
sorry its last minute!
