Was out walking today, and accidentally came across what is going to be a new Steak House in Fethiye. I knew it was being coming because the owners (from Flying Dutchman Steak House in Oludeniz) are friends of friends, but wasn't sure of where exactly it was. Anyway, it looks fantastic, and apparently there is a ladies night this Thursday for the Grand Opening. Not sure how to book tickets but it is located opposite the big black statue on the harbour. It's painted Green and is hard to miss. Exciting to have a good restaurant in Fethiye!!! (Apart from Mosaic Bahce of course ;)

Will they be doing the barbarically overpriced and undersized "Lady's Steaks" on Ladies Night?
-
If you have a look on the Calis carnival Car boot thread, there is a raffle at the car boot this Sunday one of the prizes is a meal for two, New Years Eve at the Buffalo Steak House tickets to buy for the night are 65tl.

It,s going to be a great night on New Years Eve, lots been planned and fireworks, Paul is really going to town

I was there last night and was well impressed. The service was super with friendly and very helpful waiters. Having not checked the menu previously I found that it contained nuts - oops, I am allergic to nuts. My friend found the manager (or maybe the owner, not sure) and with no hassle or problem a separate dish was prepared for me - cooked in a tall clay jar, don't know the name. Fabulous. Will definitely go again.

Friends went last night and said it was fantastic. They recommend we should try out the billiard room with wonderful atmosphere, beautiful places to sit and many books to read, well worth going even for a coffee or a drink. Prices are Fethiye prices not tourist price, will definately be going for New Years Eve. Thanks to Paul and Isik for all their hard work and creating the place to be in Fethiye

Is there anything for non steak eaters like me ?
-
Yes - loads. In fact I did not see any steak last night but that may because it was a set menu. The special dish they did for me was some kind of yummy vegetarian dish - even though I am not vegetarian it was super (but too much black pepper).
-
Cheers will give it a try. Arriving tomorrow night woohoo
-
Yep was a great night. Paul has done a great job, never does anything by halves! All the girls had a lovely time it seemed, the food was great, the veg dish was testi kebap. There are non-steak things on the menu too. Didn't see the prices but would assume they are not the same as Oludeniz. Will go back!
-
Now I know what I ate! Thanks Ella (it was so good to see you last night)
-
Testi Kebab! :o
-
Tinks, you're thinking of Testis Kebap mate !
-
actually I'm trying not to !
-
You can't beat a big plate of deep-fried Rocky Mountain Oysters mate !:D ;):D

A new steak house has it's opening night and a set menu that doesn't have steak on it.

Maybe it wasn't cost effective to offer steak as part of a 3 course meal for 30TL? I noticed today when I was buying mince that the price of red meat has shot up - again. It's now 20 lira per kilo of mince, and even more at carrefour!
-
It's a steak house isn't it? Steak not being cost effective might be a bit irritating for them :D My point is, a steak house should have steak on their opening night menu, maybe I am missing the point here. If 30 YTL made it not cost effective to offer steak on the steak house menu then maybe a 40 or 50 YTL menu would be a better set menu (for a steak house) :)

Do they serve fish?

No, but I bet they'll pack them in like sardines!:D :-\

It's funny you should mention fish as something similar happened here. A Champagne and Caviar restaurant has opened in the High Street. We were invited to their opening night but as the price of champagne and caviar is quite high we were given fish fingers and Tizer instead :D
-
Surely not ?

Parody rules

Ah well, I didn't hear anyone complaining. Everyone was happy. I'll go back for a steak another night.
-
I might also add, while I agree that it would be ideal to offer steak and charge 50TL, this is Fethiye...in Winter. I think the idea was that people would actually go to the restaurant. :)
-
We dropped in late tonighthjust to have a look and a glass of wine. The owner, a Dutchman, was very friendy, as were all of his staff.
The facilities were superb.Toilets, games/gentlemens room.
It is not the cheapest in town but comparwed to the Þat, Kale park and Sundail I believe that they have a head start and compared to the run of the mill Calis offerings they are leagues ahead.
We will definitely go there for a meal and the wee takers should also try it.
If you want quality then you must pay! If I want cheap then there are a myriad of Lokantas to try.
-
Who are the "wee takers"? (good job we have a swear filter)
I wasn't taking the **** - I pointed out that in a topic entitled "Steak house in Fethiye" there was no steak to be seen on their opening night which is peculiar to say the least. I was then informed that it was too expensive for the menu, and that steak and Fethiye in winter won't work!
Good luck to them, I genuinely hope they do very well. I do however find the entire topic totally bizarre.

maybe no steak was a mistake lol..but its interesting to see a well established and respected olu deniz hotelier and restrauntier opening up in fethiye along with hotels going boutique.. fethiye seems to be going up market.

Apparently there is something on this Wednesday night for motorbike enthusiasts... I know Paul (the owner) was the organiser of the Fethiye Motorcross Championships, and has just been asked to organise the World Championships which are apparently coming to Fethiye...not sure exactly what's going on, just heard through the grapevine.
