No, This was outside a restaurant on Fethiye harbour near the big black statue, in fact in exactly the same place as they were last year.

Lovely pair, they visited Fethiye on holiday a few years ago and decided to move here full time, some reckon they are lottery winners as they are rumoured to have a place out on Sovalye Island.

They have been coming to Fethiye for a few years now, usually hang around the fish and chip boat area, more recently they were in the Calis end of the harbour where the wading fishermen are.

Saw them in Kas last winter......they looked very at home I have to say !  had found a home where the fishermen bring the catch in, and were looking decidedly well rounded !

They had a day out in Calis on the beach this summer.
Terrorised a few sun worshippers for their sun shade sat on their bags(the peoples bags that is)and bit a guy trying to shoo them off his sunbed.
Got lots of attention and posed for many photos too.

another day one of them prodded a man who was asleep on a bench, the look on his face when he woke up was classic!

thank you, actually, must have been July as my daughter didn't come in October. Saw them flying once which was amazing, but too far away for the camera, I didn't believe it was them to start with when my partner pointed them out, and I was adamant they were too big to fly. took a while for the teasing to stop.....

I have seen them quite a few times. When my brother was over there a few months ago he introduced them to his new girlfriend and one of them grabbed her arm. It didn't hurt her I think she just disturbed them when they were out of the way eating.

Beautiful animals

I was living in the Fethiye when the pelicans first arrived.  One local was overheard asking his friends "Can you eat them?"
