Title: Free Anti-Virus Program From Microsoft
Post by: Scunner on January 13, 2010, 12:03:41 PM: I use McAfee (and very happy with it) but was looking for a deal for the kid's pc and another laptop. The price for a 3 user licence for McAfee made me look around.

I'm no fan of the well known free AV programs such as AVG, but found Microsoft's new one. Reports and reviews range from the usual "It must be rubbish, because Microsoft made it" to very good. I think it is excellent.

It was easy to download; you have to uninstall any existing anti virus software which is made fool proof by doing it as part of the AVG download process.

My sisters PC with AVG protection has just been wrecked after being zapped by a malware virus via an Email photo attachment from her son, I recieved the same email amd MS cleared the virus immediately.
