Hi everyone, I'm trying to find out if anyone here has been experiencing any problems recently when trying to transfer monies online at Finans bank to a UK bank account? The reason I ask this is that I have previously transfered funds from my GBP account to my UK Nationwide account without any problems at all, but when trying the same transfer this week I constantly get an error message telling that my IBAN is not correct. I have checked this and double checked that it is correct, I hace typed it into the required box and also copied and pasted but still no joy. Just wondering is it me or are others having the same problem? Thanks.

i think as from jan this year you have to put in IB and then the no?
-
IB then what number please Steve?
-
your iban no must be prefixed by IB
your iban no if you do not have it can be got
from your nationwide bank
-
we all now have an International Bank account number; Finansbank have updated their systems so you can see yours online.
I also bank with Nationwide but haven't noticed any changes to my account number...
-
Very interesting. Thanks for all the replies so far by the way. Currently my Nationwide IBAN is as follows GBxx NAIA 0701 16xxxxxxxx (the x's are numbers also) so are you saying that the format I should be using now is IBGBxx NAIA 0701 16xxxxxxxx or drop the GB to make it IBxx NAIA 0701 16xxxxxxxx .
-
Your IBAN number appears on your paper statement, directly above your list of detailed transactions.
The IBAN should not contain spaces when entered
forget about prefixed by IB as i think that is only for hsbc bank sorry
-
Thanks for that stevb1. That is the IBAN that I am using but am still being told on the web page that my IBAN is wrong.
Nichola as you bank with the same bank as me in the UK can I ask when you last made a transfer from Finans to Nationwide?
-
Have been having the same problems. Phoned Finansbank Istanbul and they say do not put iban no in iban no box but in the acc no box above, put the whole no in from GB onwards. Problem is UK has 22 figure iban while Turkey has 26, but it used to work okay!!!
Have just tried it so fingers crossed.
-
Top man Smudge! so like this xx NAIA 0701 16xxxxxxxx in the account box which is just above the IBAN box.
-
It works!!! transferred yesterday and arrived in my bank this afternoon.
darmontie make sure you put GBxx at the beginning, should be 22 figures in your iban.
-
Right got it now. So in short the full IBAN number goes into the account box and not the IBAN box?
WOW "transferred yesterday and arrived in my bank this afternoon" that was quick! Who do you bank with in the UK? The last transfer that I did that worked took 4 days to get to my Nationwide account.
-
You got it !! full iban number.
I bank with Santander, when it was Abbey used to take three days.
-
How to find your Nationwide IBAN online - taken direct from their site - had to do myself today so thought I would share...
International Bank Account Number (IBAN) EU use only Your IBAN number and the SWIFT address appears on your paper statement, directly above your list of detailed transactions.
If you are a registered Internet Banker you can view your statement history to obtain your IBAN number online (the BusinessInvestor account is not available online). To do this:
...select your account
...choose the 'History' tab, shown on the main part of the statement screen
...using the drop down menu select a date, then
...click on 'View statement'.
Your IBAN number along with your BIC and SWIFT intermediary bank address will be shown just above the statement details.
The following Nationwide Accounts have an International Bank Account Number (IBAN).
Account IBAN format
FlexAccount: GBxx NAIA 0701 16xxxxxxxx
CashBuilder Card and InvestDirect: GBxx NAIA 0700 30xxxxxxxx
BusinessInvestor: GBxx NAIA 0700 55xxxxxxxx
PortfolioInvestor: GBxx NAIA 0700 66xxxxxxxx
Nationwide's SWIFT address is: NAIAGB21 (This number is also known as our BIC - Bank Identifier Code). You will also need to quote the SWIFT Intermediary Bank MIDLGB22. This is for all Nationwide accounts.
