Calis Carnival Committee are pleased to announce, albeit very early, that we shall be staging a pantomime in December 2010. It won't exactly be on a small scale, but if you enjoy a night of pure fun and frivolity, these nights will be for you.
The pantomime will be on Friday and Saturday, 10th and 11th of December. Venue to be confirmed but we hope for the Culture Centre in Fethiye.
The writing is already in process. If you would like to be involved, in whatever capacity, please let me know asap!
I know December is a long way off but, believe me, from experience, a show doesn't just happen!! It needs a great deal of planning!
Early warning for Scunner and Tinkerman ..... can't think of anybody else who would be best suited as the ugly sisters!!!! Calis Secretary Chrissie and co-Secretary Jo have already agreed to be both ends of the donkey!! Triplet Piglet could play the bad man - no acting lessons required? Hmmm!! Big stage required!!! Ian wants to play ''poof-in-boots'' and obviously, I will play the charming Prince (???!!??)
Bring it on Calis!
If you want to be involved please let me know!

As two people who have done a lot for charities local to Fethiye, I do feel Tinkerman and myself don't often get the respect we deserve (http://www.calisvilla.co.uk/laughing.gif)

Why not have it at the TAPU Office. They've got loads of experience of putting on pantomimes !
-
I do wonder what our Turkish friends will make of a traditional British pantomime :D
-
I suggest Charlie from The Nil. He loves dressing up as a woman. I am sure he would be great. After this he is going to kill me though... I think that most Turkish are getting used to us Brits dressing up by now. (Boxing day splash). How we explain that girls are boys and boys are girls. I am leaving that up to Nigel !!! It is a brilliant idea. I am sure it will be a great success. Can't understand why no one else ever thought of it!!
-
Will it be Ali Baba and the forty thieves?:D
-
You only have to go to the car boot sale for that :D:D:D
-
what is the theme of the panto, i could be the pumpkin, love gina xx oops i mean the fairy godmother, before ian gets in :)

Oh no they don't.:D:D:D
-
Should be fun when Nigel comes on stage and the audience shout " he's behind you" :-\
-
LOL! Why did I expect a comment like that!!!!
Daffodil - I was actually thinking of calling it 'Ali Barber and the Forty Market Holders'.
Mercury, have pegged you in as one of the Ugly Sisters. Is that ok? Will keep the costs down with make-up then!!!!
-
Just a suggestion but it would be nice to see some Turkish people cast in a part or two, if they want to be that is. :D
-
Nigel when I come down this week it will be watch out SHE is behind you. Cheeky s*d. I kn ow you love me really!!
-
LOL! I know I am sailing close to the wind Anne!!
I wanted to call it Ali Barber and the Forty Virgins but I won't be able to find enough of them!! So, have decided to call it ''Ali Barber and the Forty Market Traders''. All I will say is, it is set in the Tuesday market! And Daffodil, yes, the main character (Ali Barber) will be Turkish. There is, however, a fight on as to who will be the Fairy Godmother .... so to stop arguments, a man will be cast - as the HAIRY Godmother. Private auditions only please!!!!!!!
