Title: skiing in Seki
Post by: ilrifugio on January 16, 2010, 09:23:08 AM
we would like to find out if anyone has been up to seki for skiing yet. And if so, how was the experience?  Can skis and boots and the lot be rented at site? (we forgot, well actually never thought of bringing that stuff over to Turkey)

Despite all the publicity it hasn't opened yet.  No lifts, no hotels etc.  Maybe next year (or the year after or the year after!)

I went yesterday, there is a lift there and a restaurant. The lift wasn't in operation but maybe was due to not many people skiing.
Have some pics will try to put them on.
The restaurant looked really nice too with stunning views

The restaurant looked really nice with an open fire and food looked good too.
The skis were 50 TL to hire

I did wonder that myself, and the lift looks like a drag lift, there is not enough snow for that either.

The drag is only about 300mts long...so longer to get up than to come down  ;):D

There was more snow than there looked but it had apparently melted quite a bit because of all the rain
Wouldnt call it a ski resort, Ski run is small but for beginners looked ideal
Good day out  :)

Does that include boot hire? Is there a good range (sizes)?]
