I came into work this morning an opened a fantastic email from a previous student at the University of Northampton who has applied to do her Masters here next month. She was in Port Au Prince at the time of the earthquake


She says in her email

"Dear Abby,
 
Thank you for your email.
 
I am very happy and grateful to be alive. My family and I arrived in France on Friday. French government evacuated its citizens from Haiti.
 
I cannot describe enough what happened in Port-Au-Prince. It's horror!!!"

What wonderful news.  I had notification of a 4.7 in the Haiti area late yesterday.  I hope it hasn't made matters worse for those still there.
