Title: Decaffeinated Coffee
Post by: Scunner on January 26, 2010, 20:17:02 PM
Do any CBF members out there who love their coffee know of any decaffeinated brands (ground or beans) that are any good? Apparently reducing your caffeine intake is a good thing, and I have a big intake :D

I've tried a few and so far I'm not impressed. I may be hoping for far too much mind you - what I have in mind is one that tastes a bit like coffee  ;)

Ta  :)

I've had to cut down as been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and as usual coffee is one of the things they say to avoid ( and chocolate, but sorry, cant do it)

Kenco decaff is really good, I cant really taste the difference and I was a real addict.

Hasnt made any difference to the hernia though !

Nescafe Gold Decaf or Kenco.....I had to change for health reasons and now do not taste the difference. Give it time and in a few months you'll not realise or notice the difference :D

Decaffeinated Coffee is a bit like Alcohol free wine or beer, a contridiction in terms. ;)

Caffine = Coffee.

Decaff = No idea, but it's not coffee. :D:D

I am shocked to realise I am currently suffering myself from an age old CBF behavioural problem. I came here to ask for advice on decent decaf coffee, and now people have been kind enough to offer suggestions I don't believe you :D

I think that will ultimately be the answer - I don't drink instant at all now and make a good strong coffee and do so plenty of times a day. I can't imagine the answer for me lies in decaf, maybe in having fewer  :)

Coffee keeps me awake and whisky makes me tired. Perhaps the answer is to change to Irish coffees.

Like you Keith I dont drink instant at all now! However I had to cut out milk 2 years ago and at first that was awful but now I couldnt manage milk in my drinks . So I cut down on the coffee and have 2 a day! Now in between I have to drink black tea which I found truly awful! So I tried black Earl Grey and then Lady Grey- now love them both! I carry teabags around with me so that I dont have to suffer crappy instant coffee in meetings!

Milk in coffee is sacrilege,strong nd black no sugar stand your spoon up in type of brew.I'd drink strong Turkish by the mug full if I could get !
Mind you I have had the same medical advice re stomach problems,headaches,sleepless nights etc etc I wonder why lol !
