Title: Text Messages from Turkcell in English
Post by: KKOB on January 28, 2010, 06:59:20 AM
I received the following email today from Turkcell in response to my query about the subject:

The messages about language choosing are genuine.

When you will confirm messages your messages language will change Turkish to English.

Firo...ive had the message for about a week now...ive just not replied to it as there has been some doubt if it was authentic..i cant imagine by just texting ok to 8104 would work, but it might be worth trying.

They are supposed to be doing a survey by sending out this message to see the response then if response is good they will put the system into force.

Hi Stuart.....really surprised you say that I am on Vodaphone and seem to get first class reception for both Turkish and International calls. I can't remember an occasion when a call failed or was lost. :)

Vodaphone works well for us too.We needed new phones around Xmas so bought a couple of chinese I phone copies. One reason was that these phones offer duel sim capability. So  obviously we connected to vodaphone as well as having out existing Turkcell connection. We find vodaphone much cheaper and less rubbish offers than Tcell.

Does it cost anything to change over and what do you do ,is it just when you go for top up you say vodaphone instead of turkcell getting fed up keep getting messages from turkcell. ;)

we found the vodaphone reception in 2.karagozler where we live very poor the mrs had to keep her phone in the hall to get a signal. also on a weekend trip to izmir there were a lot of signal blind spots. she relies a lot on her phone for work and the poor reception was enough  for her to go to the hassle of changing back to turkcell after a week.
