A bank worker admitted TAKING £870,000 from the branch of Lloyds TSB she worked for, but was found not guilty of STEALING it!!!
I don't get this at all. Scary boyfriend made her take it. She was acquitted of stealing because of this. She stole it!!!!

Things sure changed in the 6 years you were away Keith ,this doesnt come as a surprise to me.The way things are going she will be able to sue the bank for ruining her name.:-\

MP's do it every day Kieth, at least she had her day in court, strange how you can admit a charge and get found not guilty? perhaps it was because she was under a dress!! strange old world we live in.

Can't get my head round this one at all !

Was this the decision of a Jury? Sounds very weird to me, in the days I frequented the courts (for work I hasten to add!) this was an imprisonable offence and mercy for oppression by 'boyfriends' was only in shortening time served. After all she abused trust in her work situation. She must have had a very very persuavive defence lawyer and a dippy jury!!Did they get the money back?

I nearly felt sorry for her until they reported that she had got arrested coming off plane from Trinidad.
Surely if she was getting beaten up that much she would move heaven and earth to NOT leave the country. I would say that was evidence that she gained from it.

Just read the paper report - better late than never. You would have thought the bank would have been rather more astute at realising who was responsible for the odd £25,000 missing every so often. Agree with you Mr Scunner, aquittal for theft is impossible to understand as she did steal. The law always is 'an ass'. Don't expect her remand was custodial, but i bet she lost her job!! There's nowt as queer as folks as the old saying goes, with absolutely no (more recent) connotations of the q word intended. Lets hope that HE got a good and very long term.

I know a landlady that got sued for unfair dismisal by a barmaid that stole money out of the till and won because her contract of employment didn't state that she COULDN'T take money out of the till without asking!!! Its a mad mad world !!!!
