Just past the fethiye gold place ,on the Antalya road.there is a depot type place where a few artic lorries park.here there are a few lorries that have logs,they will cut the wood,to smaller bits...but you need to transport yourself.150tl a tonne.!!i think the going rate around fethiye is about 270tl a tonne...bargin ,simon

Simon how did you transport yours would be a good saving to pay some one with a van to fetch for me do you know anyone

sorry mark,it was friend of ours,he did collect in his mini bus(not ideal)but saved a lot of money.
best find a turkish friend with pick up ,give him 20tl and still be quids in

I have just been, had  1.36 tonnes ( they use the weigh bridge before and after and give you the ticket) 150tl including cutting,per tonne a guy is there with a transit van charged  20tl delivery to Gunlukbasi extra 8 tl for weigh bridge.
Even had free hot roast chestnuts while waiting. A real bargain thanks Simon

Went to see that wood today he wanted 210 lira to deliver to Ovacik for the ton but did not want to cut it small enough good bargain but then you would have to get it cut again from big pieces, :(

That is strange, was it the same place? the wood on the back of the 3 lorries about a mile past the Umzumulu roundabout on the left hand side. I only speak a little Turkish so got a Turkish friend to explain what we wanted on the phone.

Yes it was the same place so really he wanted 60 lira to deliver to Ovacik and we had a turkish friend with us as well.

We paid 140 lira for half ton and had it delivered in bags. :D

Why did you pay 140Tl for half a ton when it was supposed to be 150Tl for a ton[?]

Yes, and I also read that Terrie quoted 150L per ton and kareokemark paid 150L for 1.33 ton. You paid 140L for half a ton which equates to 280L for a ton.  This is more than the wood merchants in Fethiye so why did you pay this?  Why did you not walk away?  Is it that these merchants are raising the price now that ex-pats are buying?

Eric just to clear any confusion I did pay for the extra 0.36 tonne came to 228 tl altogether.

Done our homework,
 Best price for oak [mese]250 per ton deilvered to Calis,was from the afor mentioned yard just past the Gold centre on the Antalya road, 0252 646 7989, delivered loose cut to size and at the time they said they would.
