Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: yabanci on February 01, 2010, 10:39:22 AM
After the mid season break and a wholesale clearout during the January transfer window Fethiyespor continue their fight to avoid relegation to the third tier of Turkish football.Last week they lost 2-1 at home to Tepecikspor but reversed that on Sunday with a 2-1 victory in Istanbul at Sariyer, with 2 goals coming from new signing Ferdi Aksakal. The team are still 2nd from bottom but 5 points now seperate the bottom 5,with 3 teams to go down.
Anyone wanting to come along to a home game here are the fixtures for the rest of the season;
7th Feb- Denizli
21st : - Turgutluspor
14th Mar- Alanyaspor
31st : - Sariyer
11th Apr- Istanbulspor
2nd May- Konyaspor
16th :- Eyupspor

I dont mind at all Brian, but you may find some of the times get changed later on in the season once the clocks have gone forward.Good news for anyone planning to go to Sundays game. The club have reduced ticket prices in the hope of a larger crowd.Only 5 lira for the main stand and 1 lira for the rest of the ground.

A rather dull 0-0 draw on Sunday despite Fethiyespor spending most of the second half encamped in the Denizli half.It looks like relegation is now an any 3 from 4 teams equation.Next up for Fethiye an away game at Istanbul on Sunday. The table as it stands,
 1/ Turgutluspor...23-36
 2/ Eyupspor.......22-35
 3/ Alanyaspor.....22-33
 4/ Konyaspor......23-32
 5/ Sariyer........23-28
 6/ Istanbul.......22-23
 7/ Tepecikspor....23-22
 8/ Denizli........23-22
 9/ Fethiyespor....23-22

Fethiyespor put in yet another spirited away performance in Istanbul, this time beating Istanbulspor 3-1 with another brace coming from new striker Ferdi Aksakal. With both Denizli and Tepecikspor both losing at home Fethiyespor move out of the bottom three to 6th place.

Yabanci....i know how you feel.My team here in Scotland have the 2nd highest amount of away wins,
but very few wins at home,so they are 3rd bottom. We also havent drawn in 21 league games this season!
Only team in uk without a draw.

Thanks, Terrie.
Not sure I could support a team in blue, being a die hard Red reminds me to much of that lot a cross the park.:D

Post by: terrie on February 21, 2010, 14:29:28 PM
fethiye played much better this week, lots of chances, went 1-0 up and everthing seemed to be going well...then gave away stupid goal, went into injury time...........and fethiye scored a brilliant winner, good size crowd,as they said before onwards and upwards!!
Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: yabanci on February 21, 2010, 15:50:33 PM
It was a cracking winner Terrie,in the 93rd minute of the 94,couldnt have come at a better time:DThat puts Fethiyespor on 28 points with a 5 point cushion above the relegation zone. However, that could all change as the team have a bye next week followed by an away fixture to leaders Konya on March 7th so fingers crossed.

No game for Fethiyespor yesterday but the 3 teams below them all played. Both Denizli and Tepecikspor lost but Istanbulspor thrashed Alanya at home 5-2 to close the gap on Fethiye to just 2 points.Fethiye are away this Sunday to leaders Konya.

Fethiyespor managed a 1-1 draw away at Konya on Sunday and stay 2 points above the relegation zone and Istanbulspor who also drew 1-1.

Fethiyespor beated Alanyaspor with a score of 4-0. The game was quite fun and entertaining.

This was the second time I went to a game of Fethiyespor. Since I moved from Istanbul I am a fan of Beşiktaş but now as I am living in Fethiye it is blue and white all the way for me.

I went to the game with two American friends of mine and had a great time. Maybe we can arrange a meeting and go to a game all together as CBF??

We were there ;) much better football now, they just have to drop blue boots (39) and start with the centre forward that replaced him near the end:D

Are they safe now?
Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: Kapitan on March 15, 2010, 17:27:44 PM
Nope Steve, still in a risky situation.

39 was not so good but 11 who replaced him was far more worse if you think that he was fresh and all the other guys were worn out and he kept losing the ball and making silly moves. My opinion tough.

I liked the number 38. He was really passionate and was playing like Carlos. He seemed like Carlos too  :) I like emotional players. He scored at the end of the game after fighting so hard and that was beautiful.

Fethiyespor returned to winning ways this afternoon after Sundays 3-1 defeat.Backed by a large crowd 75% of whom were school-kids let in for free Sariyer were down to 10 men and losing 2-0 before 30 minutes were up.Fethiye went on to win 3-1 with captain Ali Gursoy scoring twice and now move 5 points clear of the relegation zone.

Fethiye have 6 games left this season, with the next 2 being the most important, away to bottom club Denizli on Sunday and home to 3rd from bottom Istanbulspor the following Sunday.Fingers crossed for 6 points :).Good luck to The Ton for the rest of the season as well I.W.

Yes but Denizli's equaliser came in the 89th minute, and with Istanbulspor winning on Sunday that leaves Fethiyespor only 3 points above the relegation zone now.Pity about last nights result I.W.:(
Title: Fethiyespor
Post by: imperialwizard on April 08, 2010, 20:13:57 PM
Our equaliser came in the 91st min!We are 4pts from the relegation playoff.
Tuesdays result was bad..but at least Ayr lost on Wed nite,so we are no worse off..
possibly better..1 less game for us all.
Sad we are relying on others to be worse than ourselves!!

Fethiye came storming back from being 2 goals down after 30 minutes to beat Istanbulspor 3-2, with the winning goal coming in the 92nd minute from Kenan Askan. :)This result puts 6 points between Fethiye and the bottom three and takes them up to 4th in the league.

apart from the good result for Fethiye, which they deserved, the Istanbulspor goal keeper was a right plonker...got sent off 5 minutes from the end of the match for kicking a ball at the ball boy when Fethiye scored the winning goal....bad sportsmanship at its best:(....apart from the rain..a good afternoons footy with the best result for Fethiye.

Yes well done The Ton.Bet you were biting your nails after 20 mins when Ayr scored! :)
Anyway Fethiye managed a rather lacklustre 0-0 draw with Konya on Sunday afternoon. However both Istanbulspor and Tepecikspor both lost so Fethiye have a 5 point gap between them and relegation with 2 games left.Fethiye away at Alanya this Sunday, but a draw in the game between Istanbul and Tepeik would preserve their League 2 status.
