I have looked at that hotel a few times, it is very tempting.  The views are lovely. It is not that much more from Scotland with First Choice.

It is superb Heather, the girls had a couple of school shows there and the staff, service and location are very special. It's odd that the Mail claims it was built in the style of an Ottoman palace, my understanding is that it was a government building of some description, before becoming a hotel. Maybe someone can tell more.

The only thing I'd say that may be negative is that if you are travelling in July/August, it is much hotter over there than at Calis, quite a lot more uncomfortable.

if your talking about the ege saray used to be the lykia hotel before it was done up with a new facade etc. it did lay empty for a long time almost derelict.

Not sure which hotel pool and gardens is pictured here. Do not think it is Ecesaray, Oyster residence, nor Nicholas heights. Perhaps Kalkan??

I agree with Stuart the Ege Saray was built on the site of the old lykia hotel, which i think the council owned originally? There also used to be a chinese restaurant in the gardens at the front of the hotel ages before the new marina was built
