Some might remember my friend Becky. She is a singer songwriter. Well one of the songs she wrote with 'Chicks With Hits' has just been recorded by up and coming group 'Eddie' and here's the link to the video they made. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea but some of you might like it. Look out for this group - they are going places I think.

...and this is another of my friends - Venke. This was her entry into the Norwegian Eurovision contest. Unfortunately she came second - shame she's much better looking than the bloke who won and I think this song might have done OK in the finals.

Update for Becky. She co wrote a song for the trailer for the new Mandy Moore film (chick flick) due out in June. Well it got picked and Becky can now be heard sing the track 'la la love' at the start of the trailer for 'Love Wedding Marriage'
A great result for a lovely young lady who has dedicated herself to her music:

Stoop keep pushing the case of the songwriter whoever they are. These are the people who build the soundtrack to our lives, and their work as an artist deserves the highest recognition. So pleasing to see that Becky work is published, and she is receiving recognition, and hopefully rewards, for her creative talent. A thing of beauty is a joy forever (Keats) :)

Watched this video promo for this film (no not a movie), and I no longer need to see the whole film as it has been nicely condensed down into a handy 2 minutes. Is it me or are more and more film previews like this, and leave nothing to the imagination of the watcher. Do they really think we are thick or something?

Not sure I will see the movie - more interested in the fact that Becky has made her first real breakthrough. I much prefer watching artists grow this way than the x factor way or BGT.
Hopefully the kids will want to buy her song and listen to the rest of her music.

She's now added the full song to youtube:

Not bad at all! She got a good voice,...one thing missing from this track is bit of searing distorted electric guitar solo (possibly with wah wah effect) mid way through the song...would gave the song a bit more dramatic feel to it.

I must admit it's not one of my favourite Becky tracks but it was writeen for a particular purpose and does it's job I think (and so do the movie people obviously). All credit to her for hitting the right notes - if you will excuse the pun.
Now we wait to see if the ones she was asked to write for Rolf Harris get on his new album.
-
Well it did get on his album that he made with Cam Henderson: http://youtu.be/1EYY-W3z640
This one has also had over 2 million plays on youtube as well (on the film trailer 'Love Wedding Marriage') - this girl is going places this year:

As a footnote - I am not getting paid anything from Becky. I just stumbled on her on myspace a few years back and have sort of supported her music ever since. The nice thing is that although we have never met in person she has made it very clear how much she appreciates my support - she actually added my name on her new CD sleeve 'Misbehave' How cool is that?
