soaps!!!
-
Who the bloody hell is Amos&Andy and etc,[?].
-
My experience of Scorcher's quizzes is that the answers may be tricky, but the real time and effort needs to go into fathoming the question :D
-
I think I know the answwer but I can't link it to the etc. ;)
-
Bigvic is on the right track but why is he?
-
Soap manufacturers used to sponsor TV shows and that is the link. Something like that :D
-
Nice one - and they are not too happy with your avatar either....
-
Am away for some time.... It's my wife's birthday today. Not only have M&S cocked up the sweater order for her present but I also got her birth year wrong on one of those poncy DVD cards.Things not looking to good at the moment! I just might be doing a " Captain Oates " in a minute but keep on with the show nonetheless.xx

I'm obviously lost in the "Haven't got a clue Zone"
-
Scunner is almost spot on, Linda- watch his next move !
-
I am confused now, how can you be almost spot on, plus never heard of Amos & andy, come on Keith, tell us they all have laundrettes.:P
-
Sorry Moe, I appear to have been more spot on than I actually understand myself :D
-
mo go on you tube amos 'n andy
a pair of black fellas back in the 1950's
-
Getting warmer !Am off to work-back later.Scunner's avatar is still a clue....
-
Excellent Quiz, even the question is a mystery and even when you are told the answer it is still a total mystery and you still havn't got a clue what the question or answer was in the first place:D:D
-
The Amos and Andy Show was sponsored by cleaning products.
Corrie,Eastenders,Emmerdale etc. are commonly known as soaps.
Amos and Andy used to be Sam & Henry.
Cif used to be Jiff.
PS If two of the chimps were called Amos and Andy or Sam and Henry I WILL shot myself
PPS If my answer is correct I might just shot myself anyway:(
-
H if I understood all that I would shoot MYSELF!
:D:D:D
-
Ok, here we go with the very last clue.I am seeking the common link here which comprises just two names. The first name might keep order in a seat of learning and you also might take a punt on the second and last name.
-
OMG It's Proctor and Gamble
:(
-
Finally, H ,you got it !
-
"Proctor & Gamble" had that on Friday but didn't know the connection with Eastenders!!
Better answer would have been
IT ALL COMES OUT IN THE WASH!!!
Told you didn't have a clue obviouslsly not on the wavelength
:D:D:D
-
just for info Proctor and Gamble were the first to advertise their products during the breaks and later sponsored the Amos and Andy radio programme in the 1920s. Soon afterwards other similar shows (and soap manufacturers) followed suit, and a critic writing in 1938 began referring to them generally as "soaps". The word "opera" was then borrowed from the popular "horse operas" (a term for cowboy films) of the 1930s. Thus the beginning of soaps! The reference to Scunner's avatar was that Cif is one of the leading brands of Pg's
(not chimps tea parties) rivals. So well done! Hope you all had fun.
-
Well then Cheers- you should have shouted ! x
-
Taking my ball home and not playing any more!!
Gutted!
-
Don't believe you ! You will be back.
