Title: Dalaman via Istanbul

I am doing Stanstead to Dalaman via Istanbul on Sunday I have a few  questions can you help.

1 Do I have to collect baggage and put it in again or is it transferred

2 Do I check in again at Istanbul

3 Which terminal do I arrive at in Dalaman

Hi Graham,

You do not say who you are flying with, i flew Stansted - Dalaman via Istanbul with Pegasus, the following may be different if you are flying with another airline.

1. No need to collect baggage at Istanbul, it will have a transit label attached to it at Stansted.

2. You will not need to check in again, you will be given a boarding card for your connecting flight at Stansted. You will pass through passport control at Istanbul and if you need a new visa you will need to get it at Istanbul.

3. The plane will go to it's stand at the domestic terminal and you will then be bussed to the international terminal where you will collect your luggage.

Can I ask are you doing this because you could not get a direct flight.
I want to do something similar but stay over in Istanbul for a couple of days then get a flight down to Dalaman but not sure how to book in internal flight in Turkey

Booking a flight from Istanbul to Dalaman is no different to booking a flight from the UK to Turkey. Pegasus and Turkish Airlines are the main airlines that fly to Dalaman have English websites.

Yes Andrew I am doing it as I could not get a direct flight from Stanstead at a reasonable price but you can book through Pegasus and pick the date you want for your Dalaman flight

I have a further question on this thread - we are also doing this and didn't realise we will be bused to International terminal. We have arranged car hire - I presume they will go to Domestic for the flight number I have given them - can someone confirm I need to advise them we will be at International terminal instead???? Leaving Wednesday.
