Hello Everyone!
I am new here, and would like to say hello to everyone!
I am very interested in the Calis beach. Specially for kitesurfing purposes. How is the Calis beach as a kitesurfing spot? Is it a good spot, good wind, etc.?
Wouter.

Hello Wouter and a big welcome.
Yes Calis is perfect for wind sports and there is a windsport cafe at the end of Calis Beach that caters for all your windy pursuits ha ha

Hi wouterkiter
I have seen kite surfing in Calis Beach and i have heard that the Strandhotel has kite surfing classes so hope this helps and welcome to the forum
-
My son and friend went over to the place by the Berlik at the end of the beach and thought what they had to offer was good
-
And what a speed they do as well, I was really surprised as I had never seen this before.

Well Teresa now you know where it is you have no excuse not to try it - don't even think I should go first as it is always ladies first!

Thanks everyone.
I can kitesurf, so I don't need lessons :) Thanks anyway.
I can't wait to get to Calis Beach and kite :)
How is the weather/wind/temperature in februari, march and april?

Wouter, welcome to the forum from a keen windsurfer - the Surf Bar just along the beach from the main hotels etc. is really good and very nice people run it. Wind is fairly low most of the year Force 3 occasionally 4 (beaufort) generally from 12 - 3 early afternoon. Not enough for great windsurfing (big sails, big boards) but v-good for kitesurfing, I may well change to kite surfing next year!! In Feb it can be a bit cold, towards end of March starts getting into mid 20's c. Would suggest a shortie wetsuit till warms up and then just a vest is fine.

welcome wouter, what is kitesurfing, how big does the kite have to be to lift someone up if you weigh 13 stone, hell of a size & will it fitt in the plane
-
PeteM:
Thanks for the update! 3/4 Bfrt is fine by me, I just use my 15m2 kite :) No problem there..
I'm planning to go to Calis Beach in March since my girlfriends parents have a house that is almost on the beach :)
Is the wind steady on Calis Beach around March?
PeteM: I'll visit the Surf Bar when I'm there and I'll drink a beer for you (or will buy you one if you're there ;)).
Number2:
I am not totally familiar with the whole stone/kilogram conversion so I'll just use kilograms. I use a 15m2 kite when there is a 3-4 bfrt wind and when the wind is harder (like 5-6 bfrt) i'll use a 12m2 kite. I weigh around 95kg (it's all muscle... yeah right.. ;)).
Yeah it'll fit in the plaine. There are very good bags that you can use for brining kitesurfing equipment.

Hope to be there 3rd and 4th week in March, I'll cycle down to surf bar and look for a crazy guy (German/Dutch?)(obviously Dutch as your profile says Netherlands -durrrrh) with his own kitesurfing stuff, I'll be interested to have a chat. The guys that run it live there but it may only just be opening up as a bar at end of March for the new season. Wind is fairly steady normally on-shore or slight cross onshore, for 3 hours most days, there generally seems to be a breeze, if they had F5-6 regularly I'd bring my w'surf kit out!!
-
Thanks Sinbad but I would need a bloody big kite!

Pete, ask for Wouter from Holland (Amsterdam) :)
I am not sure yet when I will be there exactly but I hope somewhere in febr/march.
Can't wait to kite on Calis Beach!
-
I can't wait to watch you all. I 's getting exciting now this thread.
I'll be there with my flask of coffee and hot bacon butties.
Game ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The most imporant thing is that I know that I can kitesurf on Calis Beach. And when the wind isn't there, i'll just swim, sunbath or do something else :)

Wouter, when it warms up a bit you might also want a go at ParaGliding, Olu Deniz offers some of the best paragliding about, in the summer the thermals are incredible, any something to think about on those non-windy days!!! Today is no wind, no sun, no heat in UK, apart from that it's perfect!

Yeah I definatelly want to try that. But on the contrary i prefer to be kiting every day on my vacation ;)
