How is the promenade coming along from Fethiye to Calis? does anyone have any photos of progress and any idea when it is likely to be completed?
-
It was supposed to be completed end of February? I can't wait to see what new places will have opened up.There is supposed to be a fish market too. Won't be out for another 4 weeks to see.

The promenade now ends just before Tansas. The paving is all laid but there is still some work going on, fitting out the various buildings etc. I'm not sure when the next stage is being planned, or even if there isone, anyone know?
-
I read in the FT that they do intend to link Calis with Fethiye via the prom so I guess it will continue a while yet.
-
Does anyone have any up to date photos of the new prom?

We were out there for a walk last week. It's a really lovely place for a stroll and at the minute they've got gardeners in doing a great job of landscaping the area between the promenade and the road.
Congratulations to Fethiye council on a job well done.

I know this may be yet another blonde moment, but can you only get to the new prom by coming from Fethiye?
If you walk from Calis, you come to Sat? :-\

I think you would need to turn right down the road where the old dolphin roundabout was. Carry on until just before you come to the hospital - take a right - carry on and you will see the prom ahead of you (I hope).
That sort of direction anyway.
try this for size:

You need to carry straight on past the hospital & take a right down the side of Tansas, that's as far as they've got at the mom

We take a short cut along the road by the side of the water taxi. This path takes you along and onto the main road opposite the hospital. Turn right here onto a path along the waterfront and this takes you onto the new prom. This path can sometimes be muddy so best to avoid in the winter.

I think that path shows up well in the link I posted to google maps.

Does anyone have any piccies regarding progress of promenade - thanks in anticipation....

We did the walk last week from Calis to Fethiye. If you go down the main road in Calis and turn left topside of water taxis, then a short cut through Club E gardens. Don't turn up towards road there but keep on the lower road below (Flamingo?) apartments and follow this for a while until it meets up with the main road. Walk along main road for about 50 yards or so and you'll see a turning off to the right onto an unmade road and just keep following this. Once you get past all the rubble and other stuff that's been dumped along there it's a really nice easy walk. The new part of the promenade is looking lovely. They're making a really good job of it.
Can't wait until next time and see what progress has been made.
No photos though I'm afraid.
