My friend in u.k. is having a problem driiling porcelan tiles he has tried mas bits plus diamond tipped bits ,i have surgested a spade drill is there anything else which will work . ;)

Tell him to mark where he wants to drill and make a plus sign with either insulation tape or sellotape will do, it saves the drill wandering, normal drill will do.

scratch surface/glaze for centre of drill bit to start drilling,place masking tape over point to drill,use masonary bit in drill on slow speed until it starts to drill then increase speed.do not use drill on hammer function.

forgot to add, use small drill bit 1st then use larger bit.

Do Not use a spade drill!
The above sugestions should work ok.

use a normal drill bit and slightly grind of the sharp point until you have a rounded end.Get some valve grinding paste.Tape the area to be drilled as suggested and apply paste to the bitand gently start to drill.once through the glace it goes easily.Same process for glass.
