Just wanted to say hi. My hubbie, Steve and I are thinking of buying a place in Calis and thought it a good idea to register and maybe get some handy hints from anyone thinking of buying or anyone who lives there already.
Never been to Calis only Icemeler, which we love but its too quite in the winter to settle down in and Marmaris, too busy most of the time.
Going out to Turkey in May but would like to see properties earlier if we can

We love Turkey too, but never been to Calis/Fethyie though. Where abouts do you stay?
We are due to stay in Kalkan in May.
But really want to buy something nice in Turkey. The people, the food and the weathers just fantastic. In fact we got married on a gulet last year, we went sailing with 10 friends who we took with us. Airmailed them off after a week and spent another two on our own in Icemeler. Bliss..

We bought without ever setting foot in the place and loved it to bits from the very first day.

I have found out information on loads of things I was,nt sure about, this site has made moving a lot easier. Good luck with the house hunting. By the way we are in Hisaronu and I agree with Sleuth its a brill place nothing like Blackpool. Lorna

Yes Heidi I did make it to the web but might not be coming out as earlier as we would have liked. Checked the flight prices out and £1700 for two for a few days in Dec is just silly but we will be out Feb/March for sure.
So looking forward to it and of course searching this website in between times and catching up with you all.
In relation to Marmaris, um not for us. So nice to see you chaps living my dream, out the rat race in England. Im still in my mid 30s and Steve early 40s so have few years yet before we can retire but cant wait to take our holidays in Turkey once again. Been to the Caribbean and America this year for our hols, waste of time and money, just give us a Turkish gulet for the day, a barbie with fresh bread a lovely fresh salad and plenty of wine. Fab...Any further hints please keep them coming. Cheers
