Title: conundrum
Post by: mike A on May 05, 2010, 22:12:37 PM
On coming down to my kitchen the other morning I
found a largish green with black mottled birds egg laying on the kitchen floor.
Now the only large birds we have around here are seagulls so I presume it is
a seagulls egg, we have seagull nests on the surrounding houses but I would
not think an egg would survive a 25ft drop.
I have two cats and one dog but the egg seems a bit to big for the cats to bring in
intact, also there is a 6ft wall around the garden making it all the more unlikely
and the dog was with me all night, the only other alternative is that a gull flew in
and laid it.
May be a portent, who knows

Any ideas ?

Sure it wasn't a goose that laid it?  Oh no it wasn't 'Golden'

The seagull stuck down the back of your cooker may be a clue

That you are a very lucky man because you do not feel the need to have or worry about excessive house security or at least not enough that prevents a friendly bird flying in.

Mr Pookie was wondering if he too could have a friendly bird fly in.....

Are seagulls ever friendly, opportunists yes, aggressive certainly, plunderous to a bird, but friendly, I think it was just being spiteful.  ;)
