A Good Feeling
My grown-up but live-in daughter managed to avoid strikes by Greek air traffic control and the renewed progress of the ash cloud to arrive home from her Cyprus holiday in the early hours of this morning. When she got up and had unpacked her case she suggested that we go to vote together. Having children who value the vote and think it important to exercise it I find very pleasing, in fact I have a certain amount of pride when we enter the voting booths next to each other. Particularly because, after quizzing me at length about the nature of the Bristol East constituency and the likely outcome, she explained she was undecided between Labour and LibDem but didn't want to do anything that might let in the Tories.
I fact I felt so good about this that I didn't even complain when she then invited me to lunch at the pub down the road from the Polling Station - but pointed out that I would have to pay "because I don't have any English money".

Ah, a LibDem!

Same here Colwyn, I voted with my 18 year old daughter for her first time and her sentiments were the same as yours.
Proof there's nothing wrong with the kids of today 8)

You are right about children, mine have just missed out but will be eligible for the next one, i have listened to their opininions and views and to be honest they see things as they really are and perhaps we older ones tend to complicate matters. The decisions we make today will really affect them more than us but you still get the imposter tory voter with their rose tinted glasses. The real tory voters are the richest 2% of the population, the rest are either sun readers or those that feel its beneath them to vote labour.

How to decide:
People who vote Conservative are concerned about how much money they will have in their pocket.
People who vote Labour are concerned about how much money everyone will have in their pockets.
People who vote LibDem are concerned about how much money everyone else will have in their pocket compared with them.
And that is 100% my view on UK politics :D

I have had a constant trail of emails form my daughter exercising her right to vote today - what do you think about this, what do you think about that - it's been nice for her to be asking me stuff that don't require money:D
