I had the same last year highlander. 6 emails and no response for a week. Phoned around 20 times just to be told to hold the line. Got them in the end and they just said sorry they were busy. Gggrrrrrrrr:(

Get this for a TC problem. Got flights booked for 11/06/10 - 26/06/10.Went on-line to book extra legroom. Non available on 11/06/10, so attempted to book for the 26/06/10. Guess what ? You can't unless you book allocated seats for the 11/06/10 @ £14.00 each(total £56.00).Phoned TC customers services -no answer -only open Mon - Fri 09.00 - 16.45(unfortunately I work), so off I trot to TC shop in Birmingham Bullring Centre. Unbeleivable, they didn't want to know beacause the flight was booked on-line & stated TC Airlines have a different ABTA number & I must contact customer services. How ? Ive tried telephone & e-mail regarding booking extra legroom one way(as it's not avaialable both ways).I eventually pointed out the the "Travel Adviser" that I was under the impression that she was a TC employee(mut have been the uniform !!!) & her customer services skills on a scale of 1 to 10 were off the minus scale. For a company that spouts off on a multi million pound ad compaign "Don't just book it TC it." Their customer service are at best awful, their staff completely unhelpful (unless you are booking a package)& they really ought to get their act together & realise people always have a choice.I for one will think very seriously about booking with this outfit again !!!

i have just looked at there website to see what the prices are now for when we fly out.(booked it 9 months ago) and have noticed they have changed the flight times by 1 hours and 20 minuites differance. thanks for telling me TC. wouldnt of found out till i got the tickets. have to book my transfers a bit earlier [:(!]
-
I also think TC are going downhill and I will certainly be looking for alternatives. Our ticket times this trip were 20 mins later than the actual flight times. I also find their planes very very cold compared to others.
-
OK - just got through on the phone.
My question was:
I have entered my daughter-in-laws details as Mrs Rachel Whitehead. That is her maiden name, so do I have to change the Mrs to Ms.
Anyone had the same issue.
-
A passengers ticket must match the name on the Passport they are traveling under :)
-
Many thanks
On the strength of reggie's post, I checked the website for our flights. The return one is a totally different time and I can only hope that that is because ours is full and that they are taking no more bookings.
Times haven't changed if I go into Manage your Booking.
PS Two different responses from TC re the name/title issue - 1) just as tribalelder said and 2) doesn't matter as long as gender and names are the same.
AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH:(
-
Highlander, our flight numbers are the same just the times have changed. It would of been nice to been told. [:(!]
-
Reggie - I am sorry for the bother you are having:(.
Thank you for your reply. I should have looked at the flight numbers DOH. The one to which I referred is a different flight. Phew !!!
Hope you have a splendid holiday :)

Extra legroom seats last year with Flyglobespan where £30.00 each return. So if you book with Flythomascook you have to book seats together, then you have to go to Thomas Cook and book the extra legroom seats, then you have to go back to Flythomascook and get a refund for the seats booked together. However, the extra legroom seats with T.C. are £70 each for a return journey so an extra £140.00!!! We could probably get flights for that much if we lived in England.

This is the first time we are flying with tc ( normally the mother in law gets us cheap seats on thompson as she is a rep in calis ) but as we have friends coming out with us and club e gets busy we had to go with tc. Lets hope they will be ok.
-
reggie - can I ask, did you book online.
-
Yes I did highlander.
-
Last May we flew out with Thomas Cook for a week. When we arrived at Dalaman to fly home our flight wasn't listed and we found we had been transferred whilst in Calis to another flight due to depart 2 hours earlier. Fortunately it was late so we got home OK.
From then on we have ALWAYS reconfirmed our flights!

Its a requirement with all airlines and if you don't and miss the flight you will get little sympathy I'm afraid.

If you speak to them in the same fashion you write on here you won't get any sense out of them ;)

I have had to contact ABTA in respect to the poor service of FLYTHOMASCOOK over the ash cloud problems. I was due to fly with Aegean back to the UK for 1 wk but the flight was delayed 6day. Aegean were fab kept me informed all the way to flying. I emailed FLYTHOMASCOOK as the delay going to the UK impacted on my return flight from UK to Dalaman. I received email back stating that they would respond to me within 24hrs this was on the 18th April GUESS WHAT I'M still waiting.
Spent more time trying to talk to FLYTHOMASCOOK, they never answer the phone either.
-
fashion I will leave to you ken , I'll keep hold of the facts.Thomas cook emailed me to say while still in turkey that they would repay us for our return flights and that they having cancelled our return flights, we were told to book and pay for return flights which we did on the first availible flight 10 days after our normal return date. yesterday received email now saying they won't repay at all. I will write to them in my usual style ken and may have to take them to small claims court to get a fair result.
-
Hi C1, I would contact ABTA, the more people contact them about FLYTHOMASCOOK the better case we have against them.
ABTA have advised me I am not the only one who has faced problems with this company over disrupted flights re ash cloud. They advised they could not say how many but its in triple figures.
-
Ci, if your trip was just 'flight only' then I would suggest you contact IATA as well as ABTA. If an airline 'defaults' on the contract to fly you on the booked date then you are entitled, by law I believe, to compensation. this would normally be putting you up in an hotel, food, normal expenses etc. It wasn't your fault you couldn't fly (and it wasn't theirs to be fair) but the airlines are claiming compensation which should, in theory, be passed on to the passengers. I would certainly write them a letter/email asking for compensation (the cost of staying longer) and ask for a response within so many days or you contact a lawyer. If your flight is only delayed for so many hours ( from what I remember, 5) you are entitled to free refreshments. Good luck.
ps I never fly Thomas Cook unless it's an emergency, they're crap
-
Never had a problem with them in the past and have flown many time to Turkey with them. However - it's when you get a problem that companies show their ability to respond. Not impressed with what I have read.
-
We've never had a problem either Stoop up until now. Still it's not a desperately important problem but it just as easily might have been which is why I'm so annoyed about the total lack of response.
To make matters worse I received a general email from them yesterday AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH:(
-
Result after letter threatening to take them to court they paid upin full.
