Title: Travellers cheques
Post by: reggie on May 18, 2010, 18:47:32 PM
We are bringing over friends to calis and they want to bring travellers cheques. I said there is no need, just use ATMs and bring some lira out with them. But they insist on bringing TC's. I don't think club e change them or would he have to go to a bank ?

Last time I used them was about 4 years ago when my daughter and I went to N.Y. and thought we would be safer with Travellers Cheques.  We had a terrible job trying to find a Bank that would change them, most banks told us they would not change them unless we had an account with them. We eventually did find a Bank.  The Hotel we stayed in would change them, but for a charge and only $100 per day.
I think T.C's are totally outdated nowadays and would never think of using them again.

I am pretty sure that the silver jewllers across from Josephs bar changes TCs.
