Has anyone used these to pre-book seats on Onur Air? It says you have to ring up and that seats together cost £10 one way. I guess that's £10 each - so £40 quid. Suddenly my cheap flight doesn't look so cheap.

Anyone going from Mancland on 11/06?

I'd consider it a bargain if I could pay £ 10 not to sit next to Brenda ;)

Well not sure I am happy with my booking - we booked through A1 Travel not knowing we would be going by Onur Air. OK - 'I'll give them a try' I thought. Tickets turn up and we have been moved to one hour later each way - I can live with that BUT I now find we have actually booked with Holidays 4U!!!!

I look at booking seats and their blurb says 'seats together £10 each way' No mention of per person but I guess it is. To ring them you can only use 0844 number (which IS NOT free on my BT package) and costs 8p per minute. So I email H4U for the information (after all they are the agents for this flight). Their answer:

Hi There,

Thank you for your email, I'm not to sure on the prices my self so you will have to give the company a call pax relax on 0844 87 000 44.

Many thanks and kind regards

If we get to Dalaman I will be most relieved  ;)

I think that's how they make there money stoop, a phone call later you could prob get another seat for the price of a call.

I emailed her back suggesting that as booking agents for Onur they should know the price of pre-booking seats. Surprise surprise she has not replied.

Maybe we'll take the chance - get their early and hope for the best.

If there is only the two of you, I wouldn't bother paying the extra, you are more or less guaranteed to be sitting together.
We flew back with easyjet at the weekend, it was a free for all with no seat allocation or speedy boarding, we were the last to board but still got 3 seats together.

Cheers Fran - I'm very tempted - as you say two people should be OK and we always get to the airport early. Saves £40 plus telephone charges  :)

I never book seating together, often at checkin I may ask for either 2 x 2 seats or a 3 + 1 over the isle seat and we are told they are already allocated.
I think its just another way of squeezing a tenner per passenger from people who fear not sitting together. I also have seen that some airlines offer the extra legroom seats at about £50 extra, Now theres a bargain NOT.

Stoop,

I agree with Fran - fairly certain you will be seated together if you have the same surname unless you are stragglers at the check in desk (or everyone else on the flight has paid). In fact CAA regulations support this - they dont want you going against the flow to be with your family in the event of an emergency.

We have never paid and always sat together.

We always fly Onur air and have all this and next year's flights booked with them. Flying from Glasgow we never had any problem with seats (never crossed my mind to ask for seats together just assumed we will get them). If only two of you,95% chance you will be seated together. Last week we were even asked if we wanted the front seats,no extra charge, just make sure you check in fairly early.Ignore all attempts by them at trying to rip you off, and have a great time.

Jenny - you need to go to either Aegean:   http://www.aegeanflights.com/

or holidays4u :   http://www.h4u.co.uk/

Both sell seats on Onur Air for the UK.

If you book early. We paid £195 each for June 11th for 2 weeks - checked yesterday and now over £300 each!
