Title: BP oil spill
Post by: c1 on June 10, 2010, 14:02:09 PM
while I agree that BP should pay to put right the damage done I do think the americans should have some controls in place to ensure proper standards of safety are maintainted and should they have allowed any drilling in these waters in the first place or was the alure of the BP cash /taxes to much to resist for usa government. Rich of Obama to totally blame BP etc prehaps we in the rest of the world should claim compensation for the Banking crises which stemmed from usa.and maybe i should have put this in grumby old man section

interestingly (well not really) I went to a meeting given by Prudential at work about topping up my pension with AVC's. They talked about how our money would be invested and talked about conciencious investments. I asked what companies were in the portfolio and BP was mentioned!

Lot more american companies involvement than most people think, Transocean, Haliburton etc. never sais about big percentage of inhibs and systems switched off, seemingly that is normal practice i the gulf, so BP are not solely to blame, they just happen to be the main oil company and everything is supposed to go through the company man.
