Title: a good quality chinese restaurant
Post by: chris66 on June 11, 2010, 22:45:16 PM: hi everyone not sure if im in the right room for this subject but anyway just got back from my holiday in ovacik and will be going back in august so was wondering if anyone can reccomend a really nice chinese in the area. Had one at the shanghigh place cant remmeber its name but wasnt impressed anyone got any ideas

Post by: Linda on June 12, 2010, 07:58:52 AM: I think Shanghai is OK and is good value for money, however, Draganaro in Hisaronu maybe more your cup of tea. It is more up market and is therefore more expensive. It has been in the village for a good 10 years or more so has stood the test of time.

I obviously prefer Shanghi as I think it offers better value for money.
I thought the ambience in Dragonaro was very good and authentic, however I thought it was overpriced.
Both are very popular and get busy.

Post by: Scunner on June 12, 2010, 11:43:05 AM: I first went to Dragonaro/Dragonara in 2004 I think and was pleased to see in the drinks menu Jack Daniels: 6, which was fantastic as JD was generally 8 or 10 lira in Calis.

Of course there is always a twist whenever Scunner is pleased. 6 quid!!!!

Great restaurant though, I don't think there is better if you want Chinese over there.

We decided to head out of hisaronu to go for something to eat and come across a chinese resteraunt on the ovacik road im sure it was called china town
Very nice all you can eat with wine included for 15 lira ,and staff very nice as well

Ps It was a bit like a Peter Kay sketch - I like hot but I don't like it this hot!!!! :D

Jean - thanks for your reply - we did thik of trying that place a couple of weeks back so we will now give it a go.
