Last Tuesday my Google earth programme failed to operate properly, muttering something about a failed connection. After some faffing about I decided to delete and redownload the programme, that has also completely failed with statements they cannot contact the remote server number whatever.
My laptop currently running vista has done its own checks, but is not achieving anything, all the other places I visit from here to banking etc give me no problems, is it Google Earth? Is Google per se having connection problems, cos i couldn't download google chrome either? Is it a local block without the official warning, or is it me?? anyone any ideas?
:(

I am having the exact same problem. I think it might be a Google prob unless anyone else can enlighten us.

Google Earth is working fine on my computer.

when I have time I will call TTnet and see if they can help!

After taking on some updates, Google earth has finally reloaded and works fine and I only had to allow one break in the fire wall to finalise the download.
Seems it was 'them' not me!!

Two weeks ago I bought a new laptop running windows 7, internet through TTnet, and have been unable to connect to the Google Earth server despite uninstalling and re-installing various versions and doing various bits of 'jiggery-pokery' (including changing DNS settings on laptop and modem) after googling the problem.
I got peed off and gave up.
I am now in the UK for a few weeks, tried it and it worked first time!
I am sure that the government in Turkey have something to do with this and are making things difficult for Google because it owns YouTube. :-\

Google Earth didn't have earth or stars (should have renamed it Google Deep Space). I downloaded the update and the next time I used the computer it loaded fine :)

Now it has even got our house on it, for the previous 5 years or so of its existance there had been no sign and most of Uzumlu had been fuzzy, haven't tried it for a few days so hope it still works!
:D:D

Pasha got it on the nail. Google owns youtube and because of this google maps doesnt work properly along with some other google apps.
