My Wife and daughter are in Calis this week and they went to have a meal at Rushys next to Rose Beach. When they got there the place was closed, but a friend who was there last week said it was open when they were there. It is most unlikely they would have a day off in holiday season.Could anyone enlighten me.

He was there last week as we spoke to him.

He has closed!!!!!!!!!dont know the whole story yet,but I understand it was due to the owner of the premises!couldnt be any thing to do with rent i suppose.Pity he is a nice guy,but talks more than my wife, hope she does not read this.!!!!!!

Rode past on my bike today. There were a couple of Turkish guys sat outside and it was apparent that the "Rushy" signs had been scraped from the doors and windows. He told me in May that he was being pressured for more rent. Sad to me as Fehme was a good mate of mine. It will be interesting to see where he turns up.

Funny he was telling Maggie and I that he owned the place outright. Always thought he was a bit of a Bullhsitter.

I cant understand Rushy getting involved with Rose Beach boss.He is the nastiest, ignorant, bad mannered Turk I have ever come across.

Seen Rushy tonight. He is now working at Dennis The Menaces which was previously Bamboo where he has worked before. Apparently his landlords wanted excessive rent increase and put up many hurdles to the success of the business. I knew from the word go that he was renting so he only bullsh*ts Stoop 8)

You're not kidding! We met him for the first time last week and he just wouldn't shut up - wasn't even trying to get us in his restaurant in the end - just yabbering.......we were starving too!
Nice enough bloke though. :-\

good guy, once again a good business put to the wall by silly rental charges. this happens all the time. it's these landlords which keep tourist prices rising one wonders if they demand cash from the tenants knowing that most of them are being paid in cash, and if they are declaring the full rental to the tax /mugla local government methinks not.
-
i'm sure he will bounce back next year, running his own buisness ;)
-
as previously posted, he is now working at Denis the Menice (funny name for restaurant) and we had a couple of really nice meals there over the last 2 weeks, back in uk now though saddly.

My wife spoke to him just over a week ago and it seems the owner of the Rose Beach sat outside every night watching the place get busier and busier and decided he was not charging enough rent. The owners family were also using the kitchen to cook their own meals even when the place was busy.No one could put up with that if you were trying to establish yourself. What also is a bit sad Rushys wife gave up her job to help out in the place. Never rains but it pours.

Therefore as is so ridiculously common over there, the owner went from earning rent that he didn't think was high enough to earning nothing at all.
Rushie's a survivor, he'll get up time and time again.
